"Hmm..."
The sun was near setting, the night was settling in, the cold beginning to drift across the lands. A slight chill flowed in the atmosphere, preparing for the freezing night ahead. The dark-pelted wolf never wished to settle here, but he had no choice. He was exiled from the other Bloodback Pack, for betrayal, or something of the like. He really couldn't remember.
His large claws scraped the ground, leaving indentations in the cracked earth below upon which he paced. Disclaim needed to recruit followers if he was ever going to survive out here. He needed those who could gather food and such. There was ample water, provided by a small "pond" as he liked to call it. Small enough to not be called a lake, but large enough to be considered a good source of water. The rain never contributed to the water supply, but natural "water-tanks" down below replenished it every so often.
His eyes narrowed as he glared at the horizon. He admitted, it was a tad colder than usual, but he had grown accustomed to the harsh conditions. Heat by day, a big freeze by night. Though, he hoped the recruits were wolf enough to tough out whatever the odd climate threw at them. He needed those who could handle harsh weather, intense battle, and even deadly conditions such as lack of food and water or something of the like.
"They should be arriving soon..." He growled to himself. His somewhat bushy tail idle behind him. He was prepared. Prepared to accept or reject. Prepared to start a pack.
A pack that would rearrange the annals of time.
All he had to do was wait.

Kai growled at Tala's absent minded talking. It was always about one thing or another with the red wolf. Non-stop talking and a smile always on his maw. How he got to be in the small pack of badass wolves confused the mud colored male. Oh right. Kai reminded himself with a small groan. The talking! Even though his talking was easily put on Kai's Top Most Annoying list, he had to admit, Tala was a good addition at times.
Then the larger male realized something. The crimson coated wolf had stopped talking! Crimson eyes went to the wolf who had his head high, ears twrling, and tail held low. "Tala?" he asked in a tone that had a small, and i mean SMALL, trace ammount of worry in it. Ears flicked back and fourth for what had caught the other male's attenetion.
"Wolf. Male." Tala seemed lost in thought as he listed off two words that came to mind. He could definately scent another wolf. Male if he wasn't mistaken. Ah how he loved how well his nose worked even if it did freak others out every so often. A small smirk played across his maw as he turned to see Kai already loping off after the scent. With a roll of his ice blue eyes Tala followed after his friend.
The Chicotah wolf skidded to a halt only feet from Disclaim. Ears flicked back as Tala followed, panting. Kai's lips lifted slightly, not to keen on meeting another wolf out here, but he had now so better make himself and his 'friend' known.

A small tri-colored figure trotted behind Kai and the red wolf, Tala. The earth colored whelp scoffed at the wolfs name. Tala. He thought. That's such a girls name. And that what he is, a girl. A sneer appeared on his chocolate lips, but he wouldn't dare say it aloud. Most likely he'd be beaten up, or knocked upside the head like last time. Although, he was tempted to just mention it everytime, to sneak it in there when the wolf wouldn't shut up so he had less a chance of hearing what the pup had said.
He was about to say something about it when he finally realized for the first time that Tala, the one who barfed up words that just happened to form sentences that fit together with whatever the topic was at the moment.
When he lifted his young head to look up at the two older wolves, he noticed they weren't infront of him anymore. They had stopped walking, and Tala's nose was in the air, sniffing at something. Bloodroot imitated this and caught something in the wind. Wow, he's right. There is something over there, wherever there is.
Bloodroot wasn't the best tracker, you see. That's why the young Chicotah whelp travelled with the red wolf and Kai. Well, that and the fact they were in a sense his protection. He wasn't sure if they'd stick up for him if something were to befall him, but if he hung around them other animals would stay away in general, so his theory was somewhat sound.
Then, all of a sudden the two wolves dashed right by him on either side, wind rushing past as it tried to keep up. "Whoa! Hold on boys, wait up!" He yelled after them in his young voice as he picked up his pace, long legs stretching far out infront of him as he followed. The pair were faster than him, but he said it was because they've had longer to bulk up.
When the red wolf skidded to a halt, the half pint whelp ran into his hind leg with an 'oof'. "What the? Why'd you stop?" He barked up at Tala in a 'what the hell was that for' tone of voice. Once he looked away from the red wolf, his lightning eyes widened as they fell upon Delgnat. "Oh."

Kai rolled his eyes in a bored sort of way at Bloodroot's tone. The wolf was going to get himself killed someday and Tala would be the one to do it, not him. Eyes turned to Disclaim again as the other wolf didn't seem to notice them. Only the Strong Survive that's what he had been born on and that's what he followed. If the little pup couldn't keep up or hold his own against Tala then he was no use to him.
On the other paw, the normally cheery wolf snapped around to face Bloodroot. This Chicotah got on his nerves no matter where he was. "Watch where you're going, whelp!" Body turned back to face the new wolf, ear flicking back to see if Blodoroot dare say anything else towards him. "We should ditch the little ass," Tala whispered to Kai with a small smile at the thought of leaving the little wolf alone in the lands.
Kai shrugged. "We just might if he keeps this up." Now, Kai had been known to lie at times. Weather or not that was the truth was up to the pup to deside. Shoulders rolled in their sockets as he took a step towards the other male Tala had scented earlier. "Who are you?

Red eyes watched the troop from the shadows as Kross came upon them. The white and black fae had been traveling alone for some time, and how she found herself in the same area as four males. Her ears flicked in annoyance, but the wicked tempered female thought she might be able to use it to her advantage. Putting on a coy expression she stepped out from behind the trees.
"Hello boys, I seem to be a bit lost, could you help me?" Her voice was sweet and her crimson eyes large and innocent.
Tail wagging in her best friendly manner, she kept her head down and played helpless. Kross was good at that. She was small, and the saying "Never trust a Vixen" could easily be applied to her. Beneath that little angel face was a demon, a true wolf in sheep's clothing.
Her ears were back and her head tucked downward so that her chin touched her chest. She batted her eyes and focused her gaze on Tala's eyes. "Trust me" they seemed to say, "Love me" and then "Help me". All in the whisper that was the white she-wolf's spell.
((She's such a bad girl X3))

[I'm here. I apologize.]
Disclaim sensed others. His ears folded back. Were they friend or foe? Well. It mattered not, for if they somehow thought they could take him down, they would fail. He smirked as his snout turned to face the newcomers. His tail remained erect and his maw turned to something of a small snarl, though no sound came from his vocals. He chuckled a bit, noticing how confused the few wolves were, from the older ones to the small pup that seemed to be tagging along. Hmm...They didn't look like clan material, but now wasn't the time to be picky. It was now or never.
"It's rude to ask someone their name before introducing yourself first. Most rude indeed." He said, putting himself in an authoritave stance. He didn't venture too close to the strangers, mainly for safety reasons, but he didn't trust them at all. An ambush could be waiting just around the corner.
"So now I ask, who are you? And what do you want?" He said this to all in the gathering, glaring each and every one of them down. First of all, there were the two males that seemed to be easily annoyed. Then there was the whelp. An annoying little bugger at that. And then there was the female. Though she seemed to be showing off her sex appeal, he paid no mind. Disclaim had no particular interest in females any more because of his lack of charm to please the 'ladies'.
He snorted, awaiting the answer from the group.

Tala's attnetion turned from the small red whelp behind him to the female practically throwing herself at them. Ears perked up and head lifted to get a better look. Kai may be immune to these things but Tala on the other hand....some just called him a big flirt. A nudge in the shoulder from the wolf next to him snapped Tala out of it. "Well, then speak to him," Head jerked towards Disclaimed and the red male went back to the matter at hand. Trying to get the male to let three wolves into his pack with Kai speaking for them all. I still think we should leave the brat, though.
Crimson eyes rolled in their sockets as the wolf answered. "Fine. You want to know so badly? Kai." Words were spoken in a growl, eyes staring down the wolf as paws clenched the ground. Ears flickered backwards. This wolf seemed like he didn't want a fight but Kai would if provoked enough.
The two males stood side by side staring at the leader, Tala's ears flicking back and fourth towards Kross every now and then as if he couldn't get the she-wolf out of his mind.

Kross's black ears went down and back a bit, but not in a threatening way. The she-wolf turned slightly away from them, as if she were going to leave.
"I suppose I'm not welcomed then." She paused slightly, and then lowered her flowing tail. "Just like everywhere else... I suppose everyone just hates me."
She shifted her eyes back up to Tala's, her look pleading. Then she turned away and began to walk slowly away. She gave him time to think it over, and began to sing a sad melody. It rose and fell in a wounded way, soft enough that the wind did not carry it, but just loud enough for the males to hear. This was another speciallty of hers, the gift of song.

{Not letting me log into Phantom's account - why this keeps happening I don't know >>;}
Sticking to the shadows, damsel couldn't help but leer in disgust at the white female who so obviously wanted to manipulate Tala like dough. But did he see this? No. How Kai had even come to know him was far beyond her, for the wolf was soft. Oh well - no time to dwell over the softness within Tala now, though he would surly get a swift talking to later about his problems. Deciding it was time to shed the cover of darkness, she-wolf emerged invisible brow cocking daintily. It was just about the only dainty part of the female, for the rest was hard muscle - most because of traveling. The muscle could be used well, though most of the time it went to waist as she smooth-talked her way out of things. Smirk drifted over her facial area as rump planted itself next to Kai's, eying up the leader of these lands. Finally her gaze lifted from him to turn to the companion she had placed herself beside.
"Having fun all this fun without me boys?" Her voice had a strange quality to it, an echoing quality. It brought a mysterious air to her, even when the words she said were completely boring and rather just an entrance then something exciting. Gaze found itself upon the female who seemed to desperate for male company, praise the lord she was walking away. Bloody hell - what was this? Singing? At once glance found itself on Tala, she said nothing but would be ready to leap before him, lip lifted, in case he should try to follow. Or worse, bring her back. Rubbish deserved to stay in the rubbish heap, were it belonged. Muscles tensed with the readiness, but soon relaxed. She was not going to play nurse maid, screw it if Tala got himself killed by listening to a siren's song. It'd be his damn fault anyway. Inward sigh was heaved, as attention returned to the leader of these lands and to Kai.

Kross sensed the other fae as she was starting to walk away. <Trying to push me out huh? Well, we'll see about that.> Her crimson eyes narrowed, but her song was still just as sad. Suddenly she turned around and trotted right back towards the group.
"Say, if you boys and the sheela here won't let me play, could you at least tell me where the whiteback territory is? I'm just a Kerl, after all, so I might as well go from place to place." Her tail wagged and she winked at Tala. He seemed sweet, a big contrast to the others. Kai, was alright, and she thought Disclaim was rather handsome. Bloodroot didn't seem like her style though. However, this female was beginning to annoy her. Kross was flirty, but she was by no means as "desperate" as some would think. The very air of this fae seemed to suggest that she looked down on her, and that was not rubbing well. However, she put on a polite face and a cheery voice.
"Hello, I don't believe we've met. My name is Kross."

Disclaim gazed over the small crowd. He had become rather annoyed with the female who seemed to be extremely flirtatious with every male in the area, that is, except for Bloodroot. But he paid no mind. He cared not of flirtatious females. As a new being entered the clearing, another female it seemed, hi ttention turned to her. A dark aura seemed to be emitting from her form, an ideal candidate for the growing clan that he was building.
He had pushed the first female's pitiful song out of his mind. It was seductive and alluring, yes, but he had trained himself to ignore such means of temptation. Plus, the song wasn't aimed towards him, but the foolish young male Tala. But the love affairs of those who were soon to be in his clan were of no special interest to him.
Clearing his throat, he now made his move.
"ATTENTION." He roared, attempting to have everyone shut the hell up and listen to him.
[Short...but I'm having a brain dead moment...so yeah.]

Tala watched from the cornet of his eye. No! He could not. Kai was there. And Phantom not to menton the little runt that always tagged along. The red male clenched his eyes tight, ears flicking back towards his head. No! no! No! Must stay here and show that I can be just as cold as Kai! He could act and hell he could act well! Tala stood up straight, ears perked as eyes staring at nothing, not an expesion on his face. Some might say he was mocking Kai but the four in the group should have known better than to guess that.
Crimson eyes rolled in the larger males head as Tala staightened. About time he started acting like a coldblooded murderer. Ears flickered towards Phantom as well as a slight turn of his head. "Hn," came his normal reply which could be translated in Kai Speak as 'Not much. Tala about got himself killed and Bloodroot is being a normal pest'. Tail hit the ground once in a silent greeting to the female though. The only one in their group and she could hold her own well. Kai's eyes flickered to Phantom to tell the little bitch of a wolf where Whiteback was.
Tala shrugged. He didn't want to be cold but he had to play the act. This wolf who owned the lands seemed to want coldhearted wolves. Kai was a perfect fit but he, Tala, was energetic of the four. Would a wolf like him really make it?

Invisible brow remained cocked at the act damsel put on, pathetic. The smirk that had danced across her facade turned to a sneer of disgust, "My name does not deserve to be spoken from your lips Kross." Tone was cold, the words came from her maw as if poison, "Find the Whitebacks by yourself." A pause, "I'm sure they'd love to do away with a slut." A dismissal was a dismissal, and thus Phantom paid no more attention to the other female. Instead, attention returned to the four males ... though Bloodroot was more a brat then a male. Sooner or later he'd straighten out, or Kai would kill him of annoyance. The thought brought a smile across her lips - it probably shouldn't have but it did all the same. Blackened gaze found itself across the Alpha of these lands, who cried out for attention.
The gaze seemed to say, 'You called? Now make it good, or you will lose me to more interesting things.' Before he had a chance to speak what was on his mind, she was allowed precious thoughts. The first was of Tala. He had done well - not going after the Siren. Perhaps he was learning, or perhaps it was plain dumb luck. The former female preferred more, but knew the later was more probable. The second was of the other canines in the proximity - not the Siren, but the males. The response to Kai's greeting was a bow of her skull - however slight. He would catch it, he always did. No surprises were brought in his news, Tala was always inches from being killed but that made life exciting. Bloodroot was always a pest, and sooner or later he would straighten out or die for it.
The smile faded from her lips, as one more thought was allowed before Disclaim opened his mouth and lectured them all on how rude it was to barge in and act like the leaders of the land. This thought was of Disclaim himself, he seemed well enough. Not a pansy like most Alpha's welcoming all with open arms and screaming, 'Join us! Join us! You will make us strong, for we are weak.' At least, not yet he didn't. From his looks it was incredibly doubtful he would, but looks could always be deceiving. What was that old saying? Never judge a creature by its coat. The most deadly of creatures were the most colorful, but there was always that one dull coated creature. That one inconspicuous killer that would poison you with a single touch. Dislodging these thoughts with a shake of her skull, Phantom returned half attention to Disclaim. A quarter remained on the Siren, while the last quarter lay on Kai, Tala, and the Brat.

((Tecnically I'm only flirting with Tala...))
"I am no Slut!" Kross's eyes flared. "I was just being friendly!" But she said no more. The black wolf, Disclaim had spoken. She turned her head and looked at him, awaiting what he would say. She was about ready to bite this fae's head off, but fights were not a good way to make friends.
She liked the look of the Alpha, and his calmness was a good sign. He would be a good ally, and with the acception of the other female, these males were good company. She would like to join this clan, however she feared that she had started badly. Thus, she became more submissive and listened.

(Aw, poor Bloodroot! It must be hard for him to be the only pup. >> The small whelp looked up at Kai and Tala when they whispered about leaving him behind, or just killing him. No matter how many times they discussed it and never acted on it, it still scared him. A burden? How could they say that! He did just as much as them. Well, not really. In the back of the whelps mind he knew he did a hell of a lot less than the other three, Kai, Tala and Phantom. Yellow optics widened in fear of the two males. "Y- you wouldn't dare!" He stammered, backing away from the red wolf and Kai. But then another voice came into his red auds, the voice of a female wolf. He turned his head to see who it was, it wasn't Phantoms' voice. No, this fae was much prettier than Phantom! But before he could say anything she started to do something very awkward to him. It made him very uncomfortable and somewhat scared. "Ah!" With that little yip he dashed behind Dislaim, forgetting who it was. "Make her go away!" Just then Phantom came out of the shadows. He guessed that's why they called her Phantom. She sat next to Kai and gave a sort of hello to the group. But Bloodroot just stayed behind Disclaim, still not realizing he was what they were all there for. Phantom, Tala and Kai all seemed to share expressions wih eachother that communicated something. But what? Blood hadn't learned what they meant yet. But all in time. To bad he was impatient. He was relieved when Kross started walking away. At that point, the whelp leapt out from behind Disclaim and started shouting at her. "That's right! You better walk away!" Then he looked up at Phantom. "Good job. We told her, didn't we?" But just then she started walking back and asking for directions. Pup gave an exasperated sigh and looked at the ground so that he couldn't see her. But then Disclaim, the wolf whom he had hidden behind, gave a loud announcement, wishing for everyone's attention. Bloodroot whipped around and looked up at the dark colored wolf. (Yeah, got a little brain dead near the end.)
