The shaggy old wolf hadn't been doing much but walking. Walking in circles really, but he was walking with a purpose. A stride, if you must call it. Not really, more like a limp. Yes, some thing along that category. Some thing was tiring the black juvenile but he hadn't a clue what it was. So really he continued to lurch on, calm and purposefully. Really all he saw was trees and constant river beds and washed ashore rocks and fish. The water wasn't constantly dotted with pools of blood like Chicotah.
He admired Chicotah. Really, he did, but he didn't really like that they killed for no purpose. But he truly despised Tourniquet. He despised her like hell despised the holy gods. He knew that it was rude hating some one for judgement was one thing, but hating some one for a purpose was another. He despised her for slightly both.
Because her deviant distaste in life, which really she knew every one had a curse which it was really "life", and he despised the way she was so beautiful and lured people with it then snapped out like a fullblown pistol in perfect aim directly for your head. Ignoring that, he came to a small clearing, leaped on a rock, and sent out a calm yet eerie howl, and then waited for some one to come with out and evil purpose.

Black nails dug into the dirt as the subordinate made her rounds around the pack's borders. Brown and grey body strolled through the undergrowth without much sound made from the plants or leaves she past through or over. Border patrol had kept her away from most members of the pack, that was true, she couldn't be sure if her heritage was approved by the others. The only one she knew in the pack that didn't mind her mixed breeding was the beta, the one who was kind enough to grant her acceptance into the pack. Despite her lack of any real rank, she was glad to have finally find a place to call home, even if the life as a loner called to her quite often.
A white tipped ear flickered to the sound of a eerie howl, close to her current location. Could it be a newcomer seeking acceptance? She had yet to meet with one, so she dodn't know what she should do about it... might as well do her duty and bring him to the higher ranks, at least they would know what to do.
She finally caught sight of the male, and to her horror, he was overly large. Nearly twice her size! What little cuorage she has accumulated during the walk was lost now and she proceeded to make herself visible.
"Y-you are on Aryian lands, newcomer. W-what have you in mind to b-be here?" She tried desperately to hide the fact she was frightened, like with nearly all other wolven. She practically forced her tail to remain in a normal state instead of curling towards her belly.

(( I hope you don't mind if I join in ))
The howl did little to disturb Lilah's daily routine. She doubted she even had one, she though with a smirk as she trotted casually toward the direction of the call. After running about with Rouch and hunting with Whings the day before she was not quite as energetic as she would normally be. Therefore the Delta was not surprised that another Aryian pack member had stumbled across the newcomer before she.
It was Karinek, a nervous new member whom she had recently met. Lilah held back, surveying the meeting from the crest of a grass covered hill. Emerald eyes narrowed at the stranger, a prickling in the back of her neck warning her to step forward. But she ignored it, wanting to see how the new subordinate would address this elder wolf that would have been the size of she and Karinek combined.
For someone so joyful and simple, Lilah was getting a bad vibe that was surfacing in her mind no matter how hard she pushed it away. For now she lay low, not letting any know her postition. If there was trouble, Karinek would have Lilah to cover her.

As silent as it was, there still was bad feelings in the pit of the black wolf's stomach. It was a little too quiet for it's own good, and it was yet to show it's true colors, maybe spit some rabid wolves out only wishing for nuisance. Oh well. He shifted constantly on his large rock, wishing for some one to come. Any one would have been good company. Even a poacher, if you will. He did admit to be around humans, yet he wouldn't admit loathing them like the dickens.
But yet to arrive was a young wolfess. She was very quiet for a few minutes, so in that time he studied her heavily. He made no movement, except his shifting golden eyes to preview the emaciated looking bodice of a young female wolf. But as soon as it was, a sign of life was given to him from the wolfess, a sign of struggle. He sensed fear, and gave a gentle smile. He kept his eyes steady on her beautiful face. Her voice was unsteady which confused the black male slightly.
Routinely he had been given strange looks, such as growls and frightened faces, narrowed eyes and just regular faces. He didn't mind much. Certainly, there was no other sign of life dancing around the two other then constant movement and the envirement. Finally, his golden eyes wandered to another wolfess. A one with more mixed and devined colors; she was beautiful, really. But it was to late to be given thoughts like that. He sat up on his haunches, leaped off the rock, sat down, and contained a puzzled face.
"I am afraid I came here looking for a pack. Of course I stopped looking once I found Ayria, and I s'pose either of you could supervise me in such ways?" He asked calmly, a friendly smile placing his black lips.

Green eyes turned in the direction the large male was facing and noticed the figure of the Delta she had met up with not so long ago. Immediately she gave lilah a bow of respect which was naturally called upon her, but her attention was quickly drawn back to the large black brute, eyes and body once again having to be forced to show she had some courage inside of her and that she should be worthy of the Aryian, instead of making herself feel as if she were a heavy burden.
"...W-we are members of the pack. M-my name is Karinek, a subordinate. Delta Lilah may be of more help than me with your acceptance. B-but if she doesn't mind, I'll be glad to tag along..." She turned her green eyes to the Delta.

Lilah couldn't help but give a huff of disappointment as her position was spotted by the stranger. She had wished for Karinek to act alone, a test if you will, but this stranger's senses seemed sharper than most's. The Delta stood to her full height, her creamy soft pelt ruflling in a soft breeze for a moment before she trotted down the decent of the hill. "I apologise for not revealing my presence at first. I wished to see how Karinek here would greet you," she smiled fondly at the other female as she trotted to her side before focusing her dark emerald eyes back at the large stranger, "Yes, I am Delta Lilah and although I cannot accept you into the pack of Aryia, I can lead you to the wolves that can. But I must ask of your reasons for wanting to join and what you can contribute to our community."
Lilah was never usually so formal with newcomers, but this one made her nervous. Perhaps it was all in her mind though, like hunting prey much larger than herself made her nerves raw. She broadened her lithe shoulders and held her tail high in dominance but not overbearingly so. Her sparkling eyes fought to keep looking at his missing leg but that fact only pressed her previous question. What could a disabled wolf contribute to her family?

Crip, slightly dissapointed, shuffled sadly. He knew he wasn't going to get a very good chance of joining a wonderful family such as Ayria. He just needed a family, that was all. His tail swayed like a black cobra in the foilage beneath his large muscular form. While he listened, he was thinking. If he didn't come with a reason, then he was worthless to the pack. Any ways, what could a disabled wolf do? Ah, yet he was going to find out more then he probably expected.
His smile escaped, pawning into a slim frown. But then he quickly revealed a smile again, and layed upon the foilage silently as he hung his large head low. But when he heard this wolf was Delta, he slumped forward, sulking slightly. "I am Crip, if you must." He sulked lower. "Lilah, Karinek." He repeated silently. He couldn't help but not adress her by "Delta Lilah" or "Subordinate Karinek".
"I came to join for a ... A ..." He lowered his head down a bit. "A family." He muttered, high enough so they could hear it. He was hurt by his words-- he could never replace his family, but he knew they kept the promise of going to Ayria or Bloodback if some thing happened. "I made a promise with my family that I'd come here or Bloodback to find it if some thing happened." He looked up and huffed.
"All I know is just because I'm missing a leg, if I can't do much you think, you're wrong. I can and will produce a higher number than it is for this pack, and I just was told when I was little ..."
"Just because your disabled doesn't mean you can't become part of the family." He replied, ending his speech.

The two grey spots over the fae's eyes risen slightly at the mention of family. She had heard that word spoken by Lilah... family...
Her eyes darkened in the recollection of her parents. They were so strong, carefree, and they were against boundries pitting them against their species. When she had been the only soul survivor of their litter, they treated her as if she was the only thing on her mind. They taught her the tricks of the trade of being lone wolves, saying that a pack was a family who works together and feed each member of a pack, and that they were a pack, even if it was a small one.
Then, one day, Karinek found them sleeping in a field of white flowers. When she pressed against them for them to wake, she found their bodies cold and stiff... and their heartbeats were silent... They had died of something, a disease or poison, or some other force she couldn't comprehend. All that she knew was that her parents... her family... were gone.
All fear of the male disappeared, her body now shown something between sadness and a normal view. They would be able to tell she was upset, but Karinek no longer cared... Her past had took its toll on the female... she would soon learn to live with it, and find herself a new family. Just like large male, Crip.
"I see no disability on Crip's part. He can walk and can think for himself. He won't be a burden on the pack if he is accepted, because I trust he will try his best to prove them wrong..." Karinek turned her shadowed green eyes to the Delta. She felt herself a burden on the pack as it was, it was time she lifted that... "...If he is accepted but needs an assistant, I wouldn't mind volunteering for that duty. It would also help me with my social problems within the pack."

That magic word. It was the word, the very concept that the Delta placed all her value into. Family. Any initial 'first impressions' were lost, and her face softened and eyes even seemed to grow glassy as Karinek stepped forward to suppose Crip's explanation. Yes, this was better than she had expected. "...Then, I welcome thee to Aryia, Crip," she bowed her head respectfully, "I cannot accept you into this pack, but I can allow you permission to reside in our home for the meantime. You will be under Karinek's watch. But not purely because you are not officially an Aryian; she can show you around these bountiful lands and perhaps relate to you better than I ever could. I've never been a wanderer myself."
She stood with a mature grace, one rarely seen on her usual pup-like and joyful face. This meeting had impressed her and filled her with hope. She had faith in Karinek and she communicated that with her eyes toward the female and a nod of the head. And most of all she had faith in Ayria; their family would grow, and no one would suffer while it's family members bond strengthened the spirit of their home.
"Make use of yourselves as you see fit... but don't forget to appreciate this land," she winked, her child-like side coming out again in a friendly glow, "I will search for the Alphas and Beta, and alert them to your presence."

He watched silently. The invisible brows of the one, Karinek, had lifted in a pool of surprise. What? Was a Dire Wolf the sense of keen warriors who find nothing in it but to kill? Was a Dire Wolf the sign of the living dead, or even ... Death itself? So many things had frightened the Dire throughoughly that he would be scared off any minute, and he was ready to launch in full speed off into the woods, away from here and join the blood sucking ways of Chicotah. What had been spoken earlier had reminded him of how it hurt to be rejected, and how it hurt to speak of his time and history to strangers. But no, these weren't strangers. They weren't prey. Never prey. Always predator. But to Crip, these two were his family. His home.
Was it really? His mind wandered and twined with other thoughts of his past, history, story, life style ... any thing. Why not? It was roughly silent and nothign could stop it unless the cloud of a breathing rumble that would errupt from one's vocal cords to fill the air. Now let's hope he'd have vocal cords in a moment. He thought. Maybe some one had murdered his parents. No, but he never knew. Maybe they died from the same sickness as his brother and two sisters. His brother got Luekemia, and died from it shortly after he was born. His sisters both caught a very high feaver, and died of heat stroke.
He shook his head, coughed, blink, whimpered, then opened his eyes and noticed what Lady Karinek had just said. He smiled a bit. "I see no disability on Crip's part. He can walk and can think for himself. He won't be a burden on the pack if he is accepted, because I trust he will try his best to prove them wrong..." "...If he is accepted but needs an assistant, I wouldn't mind volunteering for that duty. It would also help me with my social problems within the pack." He grinned, happy.
But was it that hard to find he was a citizen of wolfly love? What is hard to see is friendly, warm and loving heart? Was it so hard to see that through his eyes? He refrained a simple tear, and chuckled slightly, plating a brisk smile on his jowls. His temples flickered, and before he knew it, he had a bark of joy at Lady Delta Lilahs' words. "...Then, I welcome thee to Aryia, Crip,""I cannot accept you into this pack, but I can allow you permission to reside in our home for the meantime. You will be under Karinek's watch. But not purely because you are not officially an Aryian; she can show you around these bountiful lands and perhaps relate to you better than I ever could. I've never been a wanderer myself.""Make use of yourselves as you see fit... but don't forget to appreciate this land,""I will search for the Alphas and Beta, and alert them to your presence." Just then, he found himself leaping over to Lilah and nuzzling her. "Thank you!" This was now a place to call home ... For now. Then, before thinking, he dragged Karinek down and batted at her. He let out a wild laugh of playment. Oh, his childish soul had beaten his shell and cracked his social defiance. A family ... Oh. The word family rung in his mind as he attempted to play, laughing and batting playfully.

The brown and grey female nodded in recognition of the delta's silent faith in her and her new duty that she would undoubtfully manage as best as she could. Her green-eyed gaze turned to the dark dire wolf, he didn't look so bad. Maybe a little rough around the edges but he seemed to be a respectable and intelligent wolfen, not at all the hard-core deliquent wolves she had met all along her lonely path until her acceptance in Aryia.
She let out a small yelp of surprise as she was dragged to the ground by the dark male. Her eyes grew wide and she trembled as she waited for teeth to drag over her pelt. When she only felt the bat of a playful paw did she realize that Crip was attempting to play with her. Somewhat lost in the confusion, Karinek's younger, more playful self, jumped into the ring. Grinning, the brown and grey female pressed her hind legs against the male's belly, just barely reaching him, her front end came up as she patted his head and chest with her paws.

Oh ho ho. So her underlings thought they could up and accept anyone they felt, eh? Rouch could get away with it because he was her beloved brother, but a subordinate and a Delta? Vette felt the rare aggressive lurch in her gut and sped forward, protective over her lands and her family's bloodline. This wolf looked and smelled...wrong. He was Chicotah, his odor reeked of the bloodthirsty pack that constantly threatened Ayria's very existence.
While Vette liked to think that she was free of such prejudices against Chicotah-born outsiders, times were changing. It was becomming more difficult to trust those who ventured to Ayria bearing the distinct traits of the Whitebacks and Chicotah.
She sped forward, ears laid back against her skull. She kept her sharp teeth hidden behind her lips--no reason to be that aggressive just yet. She watched the stranger "play fight" with her subordinate Karinek. Letting out a sharp bark, she announced herself, the alphess of Ayria, and immediately jumped between the two, separating them and using her own body as a barrier.
"No one speaks until I say they are allowed to. Karinek, Lilah, go home. I will deal with you two later and explain the proper ways of accepting members--Lilah, you should have known better."
Vette should have been summoned immediately once the stranger announced his intentions--to join and not to fight. If he'd only been looking for a skirmish, the two females could have handled it or called for Rouch for backup. But acceptance? That was reserved for the Alpha's and Rouch.
Hackles raised, she eyed the newcomer, feeling a twinge of regret for coming off this resistant to new wolves--she normally wasn't--but her recent conversation with Breakbone had her guard up.
"What is your name and what are your intentions in my lands?

The older wolf seemed to have cracked under her gentle words and Lilah yipped with surprise as he launching forward to nuzzle her firmly. A loud laugh erupted from her maw at the odd ehaviour and she took a few careful steps backward, grinning softly to see the two begin a playful tumble. Chococlate ears perked suddenly and nose came to life with a scent she had not smelt in a long while. Lilah's head turned with an even brighter smile toward Vette.
"Ah! The Alphess is here!" her tail became a blur and she turned her lithe body toward the advancing wolfess. It had been so long, but it seemed happy greetings were not in order this time. Emerald eyes grew wide at Alphess Vette's stance and voice tone, and Lilah sank her posture immediatley. What had she done? First Rouch had turned on her, and not without good reason she supposed, but now Vette? Some tense atmosphere in the air was pressing at the Delta and she didn't like how it was making everyone behave. This war would destroy them all if they weren't careful.
"Please, Alphess Vette. I did not accept him into the pack; I clearly expressed to Crip that it is not within my position to do so," she whined and pawed at the ground, tail low but she still faced the Alphess as she stood inbetween Karinek and Crip, "I allowed him to stay within the lands under Karinek's supervision until yourself, Alpha Cronic or Beta Rouch found the moment to speak with him." Having finished defending herself from an obvious misconception, Lilah fell quiet and nuzzled Karinek's flank briefly.
"Come, the Alphess instructed us to leave," she spoke quietly as Vette's attention was turned to Crip, an apologetic look being cast over to him from the Delta before creamy paws began to pad away, taking the Subordinate with her.
