(Seeing how the other thread kind of died, I've decided to make a new one. Please - post all your recruitment themed requests here unless stated otherwise by a high ranking member.)
All these scattered recruitments had truly been taking a toll on Beta, and Delta Lilah as well. They would keep the pack running smoothly until the Alpha's returned from the meeting that seemed to drag on forever. What were they - living down there with Breakbone? Placing the thoughts of Alpha's away from his mind, he trotted toward a clearing that had been used for years to gather wanderers and accept them into the grandest pack of all the land. At one point this clearing had even been used to recruit Rouch's fore-father. How far back in time it went, he was unaware only that it had always been and always would be. Trotting toward it he glanced around.
The clearing was about seven feet in diameter - trees gathering in thick patches on the border of the clearing. At the center of the clearing was a rock about two feet high and four feet wide, he now placed his rump upon the rock. Usually it was used for Cronic or Vette, but seeing as he was holding this little recruitment the spot rightfully belonged to him. The brightest shade of green danced across the floor of the clearing, only ruined by a patch of dandelions here and there. A light breeze shifted, causing the clearing to gain an even more magical feel. The sun was high in its reign over the sky, probably about one o'clock in the afternoon. Only a few cotton balls of white ruined the flawless shade of blue that the sun always brought with it. Yes, this clearing was by far one of the most beautiful (if not the most beautiful) places in all of the Ayria lands. Just sitting within it brought a burst of pride to Rouch's chest.
The pride made him forget the entire reason why he had even come, and it took many moments for it to return to his mind. As he lifted his chin a single thought crossed his mind 'Gods, I hope I don't get a load of idiots. The sound of calling drifted from his vocals, not to the pack but to the outside. Those who drifted along the boarders were meant to come and prove their worth. "And so it begins." Came his voice, almost to loud in the peace of the afternoon. Hopefully they wouldn't come all at once, but more in trickles. How he knew there were even wolves on the borders he couldn't say - but all the while he was sure of it. And why wouldn't there be? After all, Ayria was the top dog of the packs. It had the most numbers, and the richest land. Sure Bloodback was nice, but it paled in comparison to Rouch's home.
Hopefully those on the border saw that, and would respect it with an awe that was deserving.

Khazz had'nt been up long. He was'nt much of sleeper, though he knew when and when not to rest. Venturing from his 'bliss' spot of pure boredom in a attempt to cure him of his stiff joints, he took to outside. Hauling himself to a stable position, he outstretched, arched his back, and let out of longfull, tiredless yawn. "Hmm......let's see here.....what to do...." he thought to himself as he begun to walk. He idly spaced in his own thoughts as he trotted on, not taking in any sense of where he was going, or why for that matter.
It was'nt long before something actually managed to grab a hold of his attention, not that he's one to be distracted easily, but a howl of calling seemed to echo in his general direction. Khazz sighed. "Why not?" he thought to himself, strafing to the slightest of rights to follow the source of the beckoning call. He was oblivious to that he had been intruding upon pack lands. His travels to find that of a new home had deminished much of his moral and he idly seemed to trott anywhere now.
Rustling his way through the various greens, he soon caught scent of the wolf in question. Eventually popping out of the vast under-growth, he neared the brute, with a wide smirk upon his mug "You called?" he asked, heaving his muscular frame to a seating position not too near, but not too far from the proud sat male either. It was obvious he was of that of a aset to a pack, and scanning the terrain it soon clicked. Still, he was in no state to question, just respect. He dipped his head in greeting, giving off a almost appoligetic smile for his previous attempt at wit.
"Im geussing you are somewhat of a leader around these lands?" He asked, idly itching at that itch everyone seemed to get! "Or atleast I hope you are, Ive travelled long and far searching for a home..."
"I'm Khazz, always a pleasure....and your...?"

A mental check-list went through his mind, as he at once puffed out his chest and lifted his head high. He was in charge until a higher rank came along (Namely Cronic or Vette) and so he was going to show it. Just as he had adjusted himself into the proper position a Beta should hold, who should come wandering by but a possible recruit to the ranks of Ayria. Invisible brow lifted slightly at the attempt at wit that was given as a greeting, "I suppose I did." He replied, in a tone that seemed to not care either way. It was a tone he often used around recruits who had not yet proved themselves worthy or un-worthy of the land he so proudly looked after, and so it was not unusual that the tone be used with this male.
A single glance was taken over the one who called himself Khazz, a prequel to see what jobs he could do. He was large, that might help in the way of a warrior. Yes - they indeed needed more warriors since war time was close at hand. It'd be best to learn his skills first before deciding exactly where he would be placed, Rouch could only hope that his skills as a warrior were up to par. "I am Rouch, Beta Male of Ayria." A standard greeting, as he offered a smile of welcome. "I'm sure you seek acceptance, as you would not have come if you had not. But tell me Khazz, what makes you different from any other wolf wandering about? What skills can you contribute to the good of the pack?" The tone of indifference shifted to one of curiosity, and perhaps a bit of hope twinkled in his eyes. The hope that his stature made him a worthy opponent in the ways of battle. Perhaps Beta would even challenge this canine to a spar just to check his skills.
But that came later, for now he'd simply have to sit and wait. Another hunter would be useful as well. Just to see if Whings could control one who had never handled pack life, while still trying to handle the life himself. As he sat and waited for a response, all possible ranks flashed through his mind. If he had no incredible skills he'd be placed as Omega, to work his way up to the rank that he wanted. but, Beta was getting ahead of himself. Surely to place a rank, you needed to know the skills of the wolf!

Khazz smirked a little, wide grin upon his maw as he sat and scanned the surrounding tree's and various terrain. "Ayria, huh?" he replied, impressed himself of the wealthyness the land seemed to shimmer upon "So thats the name of this beautiful land. I'm liking this place already! It seems this land is a far cry from others Ive passed through....Rouch, the pleasures mine, i'm sure.". And with that he gave another light smile and nod.
At the talk of acceptance, Khazz could only help but get excited at the thought, almost jumping a little. "Acceptance? Ive only just go here!" he thought to himself, then shaking his lead a little to shoo the dwelling thoughts away. Too long he had been wondering around aimlessly, trying the clarify some means of existance. Keeping his cool, he quickly thought over that of essential reasons why and how he could be a great asset to the pack and their rich lands. "Well, I'm young, only seen 4 winters, and some what in my prime state of strength and speed. I don't complain about either taking or giving orders, obviously in a strategic manner. I'm eager to learn and no matter the circumstances i'm up for anything!" he explained, somewhat proud of his atributes. "And like all wolves should be, i'm incredibly loyal. I'll fight to the end for what I believe in, and who can believe in anything more than a welcoming home?"
Sighing with relief on the inside, he couldnt help but wonder what Rouch's verdict would be upon his reply. The beta seemed alot less laid back than other higher ranked pack members he had come across in his travels. Maybe his search for a new home was finally over, he sure as hell wanted to fight, even for the most minor reason, to make sure that he could stay.
Waiting with much anticipation for Rouch's reply, he stirred patterns into the dirt beneath, not really meaning to, but it was a habit which spurred when nervous or bored. "...well..."

Rouch cocked his skull curiously, like that of a whelp, as the beast listed off his traits. Hunter would be a fine spot for him, if he could take orders as well as he thought he could. "And what skills do you posses? Hunting? Scouting? Perhaps even skills that would qualify a Warrior? Or something else that would show benefit to the pack?" Strength came in numbers, but it also came in large wolves. To have one this large as a warrior would be perfect, and only four summers at that! Old enough to know right from wrong, and still young enough to not be a stubborn old fool set in his ways. Yes, this male - Khazz his name was? - would fit perfectly into the little family that had been steadily growing over the years. Soon the Alpha's pups would be on the way, and life would be joyous as it had once been. Before this war fever that seemed to have all running a muck.
Yes, things were finally looking up. Hopefully a few others would respond to the call of recruitment before the moon hung over the sky in a ghostly shadow.
{Short >>; I'm sorry. Huge brain fart there.}

Khazz was liking how this was going. Its seemed the Beta was intreged with his atributes, or atleast thats what was being processed through his mind, seeing that of Rouch's reacton. Smiling ohh so once more, he begun his reply.
"Skills wise, I geuss hunting would be that of my strong point. I hunted with only one other wolf growing up, so I quickly adapted to the know how of coping on my own in a hunt, and that of spurring up ideas and tactics for that of a team effort. Ive never hunted with that of a full party though, sadly." he exlplained, then continued to do so "If you wish to try me out as a warrior, then i'll be happy to do so. Something itreging like that would'nt bother me atol. Either way, it's your decision. Im much of a minion to the higher ranked demise" and with that he gave a heart felt chuckle.
The un-easyness was wearing off, and already Khazz was begining to relax a little. He knew whatever he was appointed to do he would'nt argue, just knuckle down and do as ordered. He could only wonder what the other pack members where like if this was how accepting Rouch seemed to be, especially that of the Alpha's. Heavy breath was heaved in through his nostrils, flaring madly before exhaling through his sleek silver muzzle. Topaz heud optics layed upon that of the Beta as he sat admirably upon the rock, he could only geuss what he was thinking right now.

As he listened to the younger wolf speak, possible ranks came and went in a slurry that would be impossible for anyone not of a high ranking stature in a pack to understand. If another Beta peaked inside his mind, they would be surprised how organized it seemed. An Alpha on the other hand, would call it a mess and needed cleaning up. Either way, his mind worked well most of the time - and often his judgment was correct. Perhaps one of the reasons he had found himself at the Beta position after all, other then being Vette's brother and Cronic's long-time friend. I could get Whings down here and call for a hunt, but I don't think his wounds are perfectly healed as of yet. Well Khazz, it appears you get to try out for the rank of the warrior.
"Well Khazz, you're skills would greatly benefit the Ayrian pack. I can accept you right here and now and you can go on your way to become a Subordinate and meet the pack - or we can test your skills as a Warrior in a spar which will determine your rank among the Ayrian. Whichever you so choose I will oblige to your wishes, the spar will obviously not be to the death. Simply until one of us cedes, I will not pay attention to who wins but simply your skill level - and what you do if your trapped in a difficult spot. So, what do you say?" At that point he lept from the rock pedestal he had so claimed, and rocked back on his haunches once more to a sitting position before Khazz. Either one he chose would mean that Rouch would have to be face-to-face and so it was better to leap off the pedestal then remain high and might on it.
[Sorry again Khazz x-x; I've had a horrible case of writer's block]

[lol, i told ya! It's fine! <3]
Khazz breathed a sigh of inner relief once the Beta had more than willingly accepted him into the pack. A wide smile of joy appeared upon that of the young, ash toned brute as he nodded in thanks. "Well that's good news!" he replied, then thiking about the tastk at hand.
'A sparing match huh? Ive never fought with that of a fellow wolf before....' he thought to himself 'only game...can't be that much different, right?'. And with that he arched hauled his large frame to stand, then arching his back, extending that of his forepaws for a tiredless stretch, claws scrapping at the dirt below in a somewhat 'exstacy' of curing his stiff joints.
"A spar huh?" he repeated, out loud this time, a wide grin upon his maw. "Sounds intreging, I'm in!" he then added, stepping back the slightest at the pounce Rouch took off the pretruding rock. "A first for everything, is'nt there?"
He knew this would prove difficult, especially from that of his travels. The harsh and corrosponding climates and atmospheres had taken its toll upon the wolf. Not only that, but he was against the Beta of the pack! Second in command, and ranks go by strength, so second strongest in the whole lands. Or thats what he thought, this pack could be different, no underestimating though, that was for sure. Stance was lowered, frame relaxed but tensed, ready to make a move at any moment. He tried giving himself the same mind aset as he would if he was on the hunt.
"Care to make the first move?" he then asked with a light chuckle, nodding in a sense of respect before they started. Afterall, he wanted to impress, not agrovate.
[eep! Ive never RPed a fight before, so excuse my crapyness!!]

A small chuckle escaped him as he watched the other wolf readily accept his challenge. After a quick stretching of his own, Rouch took a fighting stance - with his head low, best not to allow his throat open. This of course was only a spar, but old habits die hard. "It would be a pleasure." The grin faded off his face, as he began to move carefully toward the other wolf. What would be the best strategy here? Khazz had size on his side, but then again Rouch had speed. Yes, quick movements would be the key to victory - even though he would be going relatively easy on the other wolf. Beta didn't need to win, he just needed to see the skill of this possible warrior. In a sudden movement, the slow pace he had been using faded away into a sprint that brought him right up to Khazz. At the last instant he lept to the side, turned and lept toward the larger canines side.
His jaws were closed, as he simply intended to attempt to knock the other wolf over. If he failed, he would continue on barreling before coming to a stop - turning and awaiting the others next move. This could be a very interesting spar.
(xD Neither have I. We can learn together.)

Khazz was ready, in mind and body, though he didnt expect the Beta to attack with such haste, and once more, heading straight toward him. He doubted Rouch would stick to that course of action, and his hunch seemed to pay off. Claws dug deep into the earth as he ready'd himself from a counter attack. As Rouch sprinted towards him, he was taken by surprise by the speed he seemed to be able to switch direction, his keen sight never failed though, and with a push he norowingly escaped the barge to his side leaping forward to where Rouch had first stood.
Bailing forward, he thought to use the rocky mound as a rebound, leaping and placing that of all fours upon its side, then pushing off to send himself straight towards Rouch with an extra bit of 'umf', so to speak. Like the Beta, he too kept that of his teeth locked away, only hoping to knock the other brute on contact. Heading straight towards that of crossing paths, if succesfull, he attempt the same rebound technique upon that of the Beta's flank. If not, then he would have to about turn, and try again.

While recovering from his failed attack, Rouch had precious moments to leap from Khazz's next attack. Leap he did, but not as fast or as far as he would have liked. The force of the other males attack was blocked so as not to knock him over, but the force of the blow would still leave a nasty bruise on Beta's flank. Shifting his position to face Khazz, Rouch took note of the other males every movement. A twitch of the nose, or a shuffle of the paws. After a moment of consideration he stood were he was, allowing the other to regain his footing, for the Beta did not intend to win this spar. He intended to allow Khazz to win, but not without effort. Fighting stance was regained, as he barreled forward again - head lowered in an attempt to head butt. If he missed he would continue onward until the momentum he was building up decreased, allowing him to turn around and see what the possible Warrior would do.

Khazz gave off a little grin after managing to conect with that of the Beta, forcing him to block his attack. Since blocked, the re-bound was'nt as effective, and Khazz himself almost found himself falling over. Regaining balance quickly, he lept out of range and skidded around on his forelegs to a haulting stop, surprised somewhat to find the Beta had regained posture and was raring to go once more. Shaking it off quickly, he took that of a low, defensive position, knowing all to well the Beta was about to charge again.
Once Rouch had charged, he was about to strafe when he noticed the head duck in attempt to shoot back up, contacting with a head butt. Khazz was big yes, but he was fast too. Seems as though he could'nt make with enough haste this time around though. Khazz doged, but only just, to the right after faking a left, the head of the Beta missing his own, but barging into his left shoulder.
Khazz whinced silently and too himself as he continued right, immediatly following the Beta in a counter attack. If the Beta was to slow, Khazz was to leap from the Beta's left to his right side, then somewhat sidebarge him during movement in hope to knock off his balance. If succesfull, Khazz would then back up to let the Beta to his feet. If not, then he would about turn once more, ready to go again.

As skull connected with shoulder, a sense of pride filled him. This pride often came in the middle of a fight, but it was quickly pushed aside for one to cocky can get killed. Alright - it wasn't a fight to the death but it would be idiotic for him to allow a green wolf to kick his ass without much effort. Khazz had shown much skill though, and Rouch had already found a place for him. Perhaps one more attack, and the news would be given. The spar had not gone on for very long, but the Beta had learned all he needed to know.
These thoughts passed through his mind in a second, as he readied himself for an attack that was sure to come. Following the others movements, he tried to move - but the attempt was half-hearted. This allowed Khazz to connected solidly with his side and send him flying. The allowance of being hit so solidly was to judge the strength of the other, to see if that size was just fur or really the muscle it seemed to be. Rouch had gotten his answer. Returning to his feet he lowered his head, and pulled his ears flat. A sign of surrender.
After a few moments so Khazz would get the message, he returned to his usual dominant position and allowed a grin to break over his face. "Well, you're better then I had first assumed. I think Lead Warrior would be a fitting position, don't you?"

Khazz had sharply turned after the side on hit so to avoid any counters, surprised somewhat that his attack had hit the way he wanted it to. Well, 'somewhat' in the fact that he knew this was only a spar to test his ability. Maybe the Beta allowed the attack to be conflicted? Either way, once the Beat had regained his posture, he showed that of a surrendering stance, which made Khazz sigh a mental sigh of relief. He too relaxed, plopping his rump down to seating position as he gave the Beta a giant smirk.
"Appoligies if I seemed to hit you too hard..." he explained, giving a light hearted chuckle.
At the news of the Beta thinking he was better than he first assumed, Khazz felt a sense of pride take him. Looks like he managed to impress him quite a bit. Nothing prepared him for the position he would be apointed though. At the news, Khazz looked a little bewildered. 'Lead Warrior?' he thought to himself, wondering if he had heard correctly. Alas, the beta had made no change in stature or what not to signify he had made an error.
Almost jumping with glee, he seeked to keep himself calm and collected, not wanting to make a fool of himself infront of the beta right after he had been appointed such a important title amoungst the pack. He wouldnt let it go to his head either. Cockyness can kill afterall, and he was'nt really like that anywho. He gave Rouch a respectfull nod and grin "I shall do my best for the pack!" he said with a sense of pride. "I'm afraid ive met no other member with the exception of you though Rouch...."
