There were few spots in the mountains that were private. though, the ones that were only Breakbone was allowed into. One was his lair, a small cluster of mountainous trees, and a ledge that overlooked the lands of Ruritia. Another was in the western part o the mountains. the birds from the haven had traveled up his mountains and carried seeds with them, thus along that side were many flowers and greenery that was misplaced, but beautiful none the less. It was rare he ever went there, though. That place was mainly for puppies to romp and play in. So he stayed in his lair high up in the mountains, where he would call the warrior female to.
His head lifted to the sky above and a dep, haunting tune carried from his chest and through and into the heavens above. It called out "Avonaco, I request your presence." if she didn't hear it, he was sure another member would and would pass the message on to her. The howl died down and he waited a few seconds before doing another, just for safety. Once that was finished, he sat upon his ledge and awaited her arrival. Before it was only Pisca and Shadow privlaged enough to join him where he spent his time alone, but now there would be one more. One he hoped would be there as much as he was from now on.
He was sure she would be able to find him. His scent was strong as he went there often, though the path was hardly beaten in, for he never took the same way twice. If a common wolf found a path, most likely he would follow it. so, she would simply have to find the freshest scent of him and follow it there where he waited. It wasn't too hard o a task, not for a cunning warrior.

Curious glance was given towards the mountains as a deep howl echoed through them, most definitely Breakbone. But ... what could he want with her? Had she done something wrong? Naco's brow came together with an almost audible snap as she trotted up toward the howl, before she realized it would probably be best to reply. With brow still furrowed, and mind reeling on what Lord Alpha could want with her, chin lifted to the sky and his note was returned with something along the lines of "And my presence you receive." With that out of the way, she had time to wonder what was going to happen up in those mountains. Surly she was not going to be banished from Bloodback! No, she would have received something of a warning first. Perhaps she had not said the right things to Beta Shadow?
"Oh, stop thinking." She muttered to herself, but mind did not listen and continued to ravel on about what this meeting could be about. The path was not all that difficult to follow, though she managed to loose his scent once or twice. When this happened she simply retraced the steps she had taken to get to this point until the scent was strong once more. Getting lost rather helped keep her mind away from the meeting to come - and so it was a welcomed affair. Winding up the hillside, the path became easier to follow and therefore kept her mind less occupied. On those occasions she would take her time to memorize the land, and every creature on every tree. Finally she reached a ledge that held the Alpha's scent strongest, this was it.
As in their first meeting, the awareness of how attractive he was ran through her being. A shake of the skull dispersed those thoughts as her trot became a slow walk. Planting her rump beside Lord Alpha, she bowed in a respective manner and kept her posture lower then required. "You called Lord Breakbone?" Emerald gaze locked onto his, the mirth that had once been constant in her eyes gone in place of worry and curiosity. Not in a million years could she even begin to imagine what would happen next.

While he waited for her, the alpha pawed at some blade of grass growing alongside the ledge. His area was of softer ground, as grass grew within the shade of the trees, and when it rained, the mud seemed to gather most here. So it was easier for grass, trees, and small flowers to grow. And even for his hardened paws, it was a reliefe to step foot on the soft soil, or sleep in the moss. His mind wandered also, as he waited. He realized how much he thought about the coming war, how much he had truly lost of himself. Perhaps this new matter would start to cheer him up. Naco had a sense of humour, after all.
Breakbone would make it a note not to think such dreadful thoughts all the time. He needed to have fun - his pack needed to have fun! If he continued to think nothing but war, then they would be no better than their rival pack. All thoughts dispersed as her pawsteps were finally heard. Heavy paws, unlike Piscas or Shadows. They were the paws of his warrior, of Avonaco. Slowly, his thick tail started to wag as her whole self came into view. Pisca was right - they would be a very good match. She met all of his standards, and would not only make a fine alpha, but a wonderful mother.
As she sat next to him, his paw came to touch her own as a sign of respect. A small nip was given to the upper part of her muzzle; He was still dominate male.
"Good evening, Avonaco." He said with a cheery tune. "I called because I wish to speak to you away from the pack about very... important matters. I have not interrupted any of your duties, have I?"

Mind continued to reel over what this meeting could be about, Alpha looked content and not of one about to banish a female from the pack. She relaxed herself, and brought herself up a bit. Not enough to cause disrespect - but enough to hold herself as a warrior and not a subordinate or something of the like. She was a warrior bye gum, and she was going to start acting like one! The worry that had filled her eyes dispersed and the laughter returned in full force. So it seemed she had nothing to worry about - but why would he call her up to him? A mission of some sort? No, he would have a look of urgency if that was the case. Oh how she hated suspense, but it would have to be dealt with until Breakbone decided to time to reveal what this meeting really was about came. She was content in his company, and sometimes it was nice to get away from the thoughts of war and constant listening of the bickering about war.
They all needed to get out of gunner mode and relax for a bit, enjoy the pleasures of life and live it to the fullest. War would come sure enough, but it was not here yet! Tail wagged itself across the ground in a pleasant manner - enjoying herself now that the prospects of banishment or reduced the Omega level were almost fully out the window. After all, why treat one who had done something horrible enough to be demoted so nicely? Skull shook itself gently dispersing the thoughts once more, Naco would just have to be patient for once in her life. A sacrifice well worth it for Breakbone, the one who would lead them all to victory when war finally did arrive. Content smile placed itself over her jaws as these thoughts crossed her mind, leave it up to Avonaco to look to the silver lining in a cloud of doom and destruction.
The smile turned to a hybrid of a content smile and a large grin, the effect looking quite strange. Emerald gaze lifted from the ground into the warm eyes of Alpha, "And a merry evening to you." She responded the hybrid still strong on her face, "Oh no - I was scouting around the borders for any trouble, but it doesn't look like trouble's about. Important manners Sir?" Skull cocked curiously, what in the world were the important manners?

And though he was more than happy to see her, and also hear the good news of no trouble, he was nervous. The Alpha had never done something like this in his life. He had never been much interested in a mate until now. So how did he ease into the subject? There wasn't much to ease into... he had to be blunt. Let instincts take over, right? right.
His eyes met hers and held the gaze. He could look at any wolf in the eyes if he wanted, but he rarely did. He didn't like to induce fear. But this gaze was not one of dominance. It was for full attention.
"Avonaco," Breakbone started, trying to sound relaxed, though still formal. "I have decided that it is time for this pack to have an alpha female. I have decided that it is time I found myself a mate. Not just any mate, either. One that meets all the standards of a true Bloodback. One that I admire, and one the pack admires as well." He paused. His eyes looked about her face for her reaction to his, but not yet would he let her speak. He was not finished with what he had to say.
"I have spoke with another trusted member about his views of you, and what he's heard of you. They are all good, thus this gives me a good feeling about how the pack sees you. Since I accepted you into the lands, I have admired you, as well. You are stunning in all aspects..." He thought he was starting to sound a little too much like an alpha rather than a courter... but he wasn't used to this at all. It was very awkward. "I have chosen you to be with me, as my mate, and my alpha."
Perhaps he should have asked? no... she admired him as well. He saw it in her eyes. Everytime he passed her she looked at him. She flirted even if she didn't notice. Many females did, but she did in a more innocent way. Besides, it was usually the alpha male who chose the alpha female in most cases, so this was just fine. A nerovus, wolfish smile took to his maw as he awaited her response, and could only hope she would accept what he had told her..

Skull remained cocked, a tad bit concerned by the amalgam of emotions that had formed over his face. Whatever he had to say, must have been damn well important! In all the times they had crossed paths this strange mingle of emotions had not once formed over his face, about to open her mouth to say something she was stopped by the flood of words that escaped his mouth. She nodded during the correct parts in his little speech, but as it progressed her eyebrows lifted more and more. By the time it was her turn to speak her expression matched the popular emoticon that humans would use millions of years in the future: =O. Her mind reeled, what was she supposed to say? Yes? No, that wouldn't work as he hadn't so much of asked as he told her. Thank him? No ... that would make her look like a bloomin' idiot!
Stomach doubled over itself and for a horrible moment she was afraid that her supper would spew all over this beautiful ledge. The fact that his gaze remained on her own - something he had never done before - the whole time, was completely forgotten. Every aspect of the land was gone, it seemed as if his presence was the only thing that kept her bound to the earth. Without realizing it, her posture had changed itself. Lifted from that of a warrior to that of a Queen, ruling over all except for beloved. At once everything returned to her, the land, and the fact that her jaw was hanging so low it seemed as if it would escape its socket. She quickly closed it, and gave a sheepish smile as if apologizing for her long-time silence. And what could she do? Say no? Not with that look in his eyes, not with that feeling buzzing around in every fiber of her being.
"Well, someone's got to keep you in line." The sheepish smile was replaced with a grin, "And that someone's going to be me." Snout thrust itself into his shoulder in a nuzzle that was reserved for only the most intimate of times. Only the most intimate of wolves. The realization of what had just happened washed over her in an instant, she had accepted being Lady Alpha. She had accepted a whole new life.

Knew he should have asked instead of just told her. He didn't want to take any risks. He was Alpha Breakbone, and never did expect to be rejected. Especially not by one that he knew liked him. But how glad he was when she accepted this, and automaticly raised her status to that of a queen. Queen she was, though still good warrior material, as he himself was. It was an awkward moment of silence as he wanted for her to say something, and her face displayed many emotions, he didn't know exactly how to read it.
However, she finally spoke, and a silent breath of relief was exhaled, and then a chuckle followed. "Yes indeed... I suppose I tend to stray from my path at times." And then he blinked a few times as she suddenly nuzzled him. He didn't even think abou doing it back, but he ofund himself doing it anyway. This was good. Very good. It made him happy inside even if it didn't show very much on the outside. But, inside he was warm and fuzzy feeling. There were butterflies in his stomach. Soft, wet, pink tongue was all over her maw and face in loving licks. Soon there would be puppies, too! And there would be joy within the entire pack as new life arrived. This feeling was so overwhelming that his head was thrown back, and a joyous howl was given to the heavens above. He announced this happy news to everyone in the world - or at least everyone who could hear the howl. He would howl again and again, his tone changing to a higher pitch, signifying his happiness.
And of corse, his tail behind him was wagging about a million miles an hour. Surprised it didn't just fall off his rump it was waving around so fast. And when his howls ended, he went back to the licking, as well as playful maw-nipping.

{Sorry for the wait - I've been museless >>;}
Tail wagged itself about a million miles a minute at Breakbone's reaction, the real impact of what had just happened would really not affect Naco until she officially made her way through the pack as Lady Alpha. For now, she found herself enthralled in new-found love and couldn't care less what the next days brung. Just as long as Breakbone was by her side, the world would keep on spinning and war would never come. The deep bass of his howl was soon joined by a strangely soprano note of her own - despite her size, the howl that escaped her larynx traveled about the skies in a high and flighty manner usually reserved for those who are dainty and only suitable for being a trophy. But the world was full of what seems like it shouldn't be, and that's what made it interesting.
As the howls came to a cease and she found Alpha bathing her in licks and other sorts of gestures, she returned them with just as much enthusiasm. It seemed the grin on her face would never falter nor would it leave for days to come as beloved was bathed in as little slobber as she could manage while still returning his affection at full blast.
