ooc// Hope you don't mind that I chose to start a thread, seen as my muse is on a high at the moments.
Padding softly through the land, banner swished gently and removed particles of mud from her rear. This place was new to her, never had she seen it before. I guess that was pretty easy to guess, seen as she had never even been in these land before and had been traveling for the past month or so. Finally, the first signs of a true wolf pack seemed to be getting closer. How she longed to get back into the routine of meeting and greeting friends everyday, not worrying about speaking to others because she would hopefully know them. To her, this would be another wonderful experience. Never in her past had social things worked out for her, so if all went well, this would be a first. Limping onwards, the femme tried to forget about the large cut on her front left piston. It didn't hurt as much as it had when she had caught it on that fence, and the fact that she knew what she was doing when it came to things like that was an extra bonus. Scents wafted up her nose, scents of other wolves. Finally.
A moment or so later, Ace found herself sat at the bottom of a mountain range. Yeah, she hadn't seen anything that looked like this before. Well, something new wasn't bad in her books, as long as it would end up being for the better. Setting her rear down upon the ground, optics scanned the area for signs of anyone. This was the border of the land, and she was respectful enough to stay there and not barge into unknown lands. After all, if some bloodthirsty pack that looked as though they wanted to eat her alive started to march down the mountain, off she would be in a flash. No. This place seemed different. It was calm, quiet, only the sound of the few passing birds filled in her auds and the random fly passed her nose. A place like this seemed to be perfect for her personality. Even if she knew what she wanted and when she wanted it, she was calm and relaxed, honest and trustworthy and very reliable. Yeah, I guess you could say she was perfect. Well wait, no one is.
Truth was, her beautiful blue optics weren't just for show, and she couldn't see anything through her left one. It hadn't always been like that though. When she was younger, she could see almost perfectly but as she started to grow older and reach her 'teen' years, her vision had started to become a bit more fuzzy. She took it as nothing though, and just thought that perhaps she had cut it on something and that it was just watering. However, weeks past and it got worse until she could no longer see out of it. The beautiful wolf thought that this would ruin her life, and doesn't actually tell a lot of wolves about it because she just looks normal. All she had ever wanted was to be normal, but the thought of others talking about her saddened her. Sighing ever so slightly, a cold whisper set off into the cold evening air. Still no one appeared to have noticed the newcomer, so perhaps she would have to try and get herself seen. Tilting her head back, maw pointed into the air as she let out a soft howl.

.ooc. Gah. >< Some wolfspeak in here I don’t understand. I’m guessing “piston” is leg.

As usual to keep the pack safe with just a handful of other members, the Beta had been patrolling the boarders for much of the day. Circling around in circles, yet nothing seemed to be the same. Once in a while she saw a large bird making a kill, one of the members passing by, and unusually, very few enemies and intruders; the lack of such a thing that used to be so often made Shadow feel a little uneasy patrolling the boarders. She sensed something was wrong, and something terrible will happen in the future because of this, but she kept it to herself for now. There was no need in alerting Breakbone or his new love Avonaco of something as subtle as that. Shadow didn’t want to take the chance of being wrong, then being scolded for making such a big deal of nothing.
Making her second round of the day, her legs were getting a little tired but she still felt the muscles in them getting stronger with every stride of her slow trot. Her neck was barely moving at all, but her eyes were constantly bouncing back and forth off of trees, bushes, clearings, animals, rocks and things that moved. Whenever she scented something that seemed unusual, she stopped and used most of her senses silently until she was sure it was nothing to worry about. But now, she smelled something. Stopping to get a better whiff, she smelled a female wolf and blood. She blinked and immediately headed toward the smell, thinking it may be an injured member—from the smell of the Bloodback species—or an enemy that was half dying and needed to be finished off. She was female, and young—as the scent told her.
A howl?
Coming to her, she saw a white, blue-eyed and black tail-tipped female wolf with a large cut on her leg. Shadow, not caring what the cut was from, knew she wasn’t an enemy. Enemies would be much smarter than to howl out to their target…unless she was…bait. But that wasn’t possible; Bloodback’s enemies were much too stupid to think up something like that. No joke.
Shadow walked slowly right up to her, speaking as she did so with her usual warm voice that everybody seemed to like. Maybe it was because it seemed so motherly, and almost all wolves liked it. The others either didn’t have a mother to hear the kind of voice from, or were faking it—which is very common, as the Beta came to find out hysterically. “I’m Shadow, Beta of this pack. Are you looking for a place to stay? You must be very tired getting here, especially with a leg like that.” She glanced briefly at the white wolf’s leg, then into her blue eyes which were too pretty to not look at. Shadow made it to the wolf and stood a few feet from her, cautious of what the female was like, and what she would be like to Shadow.

ooc// Gah sorry, I won't use anymore xD.
Light was all around the femme, and even caused her to blink a few times. The weather was too hot, how she longed to bask in some snow or frolic through the rain. Even hoping for this seemed pointless, for one could never change the future unless they were the creator of course. Ace was a rather different wolf from most. In spare time, she would sit and think about the world, the humans, the wolves, and anything else. She was fascinated with life, and never a day went by without her saying a little something to thank whoever had allowed her to enter the world. Well, off course a lot of credit went to her parents, but it confused her to think about why it was her growing in her mother's stomach, why she had been born and not another, were there wolves just waiting to float into someone's stomach? All right, maybe this subject was just a little to odd to think about. Shaking the thoughts out of her head, the scent of another she-wolf entered through her nares.
Picking her rear from the ground, tail gently wagged beside her rear and a soft smile spread across her face at the sign of another wolf making their way forth. Finally, she had found someone that would hopefully be able to give her directions of a place where she could get some rest. After all, limping along took a lot longer than walking and all day had she had to be so careful about what happened to that leg, not letting the cut touch anything rather than what it needed, the saliva from the tongue. Yeah, odd, but it seemed to always help. Plus, it kept the wound cool and even though it stung at first she was sure that it was a good method of cleaning it. Any road, she didn't think about that right now, for the other wolf had started to speak and she wanted to hear what she was saying. She seemed nice, and Ace was glad that she seemed to have found a nice place to stay. "Yes, I am looking for a place to stay. My name is Ace, and this leg of mine is causing a lot of problems." She smiled slightly, and glanced down at the floor.

.ooc. Lol, much appreciated. xD

Shadow, seeing that Ace was friendly, proceeded to stand by her side to examine the cut. It was big, and her last thought was what it was from. Whatever had caused it—it couldn’t be helped now. Her ears stayed perked forward, Shadow as always tense out here as this was a prime spot for enemies to attack. Ace didn’t seem like bait, and Shadow trusted the impression to be true. Bright purple eyes looked up to Ace with a slight smile. “I can understand that. We’re in one of the worst places to be right now, as enemies could be hiding and attack us. Enough talk, we need to get you into the packlands.”
The beta was no alchemist, but she knew that the she-wolf was doing the right thing. From the looks of it, the wound looked clean and that possibly meant that she had been licking it. Good, now there were no worries of it becoming infected. Shadow turned to face the mountains, and then she turned her head to Ace. “Go ahead, the territory is right in front of you. Walk in like you own the place if you want to have a little fun. I’ll follow close behind you.”
She was going to go first into the packlands and check back every once in a while to see if she was keeping up, but that would leave her vulnerable to Whitebacks who held no mercy. Shadow would rather die than be responsible for another death. She stood stiff legged, glanced at the cut then back at Ace’s eyes.
A crow screeched in the distance, and Shadow’s right ear turned suddenly to the sound but her eyes stayed in place. The sound was enough to know what it was; Shadow had lived here since her parents were killed. She still remembered clearly when she was taken in by Breakbone and saw this place for the first time. The sound of a crow had frightened her at first, but then she saw that it’d do her no harm.

This femme seemed nice enough, and Ace had all ready decided that she liked the wolf. Glancing down at her open cut, a sigh left her maw as she noticed it was slowly starting to bleed again. A small trickle of crimson blood was rolling down her front leg, and it was noticeable as spilling tomato ketchup on a white table cloth. The scab that had been shielding it had obviously also decided to crust up and fall off, which meant that quite a lot more bleeding could be expected. Oh well, at least she new what she was doing. Her mother had been a medic, and she had learned quite a lot from her. "The trick is to lick an open cut twice, the first time to calm the bleeding and the second to start to stop it. Then, left alone, it will soon stop itself as long as no more pressure is put onto it." Ah yes, mother's wise words when she had gotten herself into a bit of an awkward situation. "You hold a very good point there. Shall you lead?"
That wasn't all she had been taught though, she even knew that the touch of some plants could help heal a wound, no matter how bad. I guess you could say that she was lucky to have been brought up by her mother and to have learned all these facts, for at least that was one skill that she could say she was pretty good at. Hunting had never been her thing, and she was not strong enough to patrol lands. There were so many things that she couldn't do or didn't like doing so in a way I guess you could say that this was her calling. "Very well then, and thank-you." Femme smiled softly at Shadow before setting off up the mountain to where she had been told the territory was. At least she knew that she now had somewhere safe to stay, for the night at least. If she was accepted into the pack, she couldn't help but wonder what rank had her name on it. It wouldn't bother her if she was just a subordinate, that was fair enough in her books.

Shadow nodded in approval, and then glanced back warily behind her where the territory ends. A stare at what seemed like nothing was enough to have the smart spies leave. But if they didn’t, she wasn’t afraid to lose her life. She looked back at Ace as she glanced to her cut. The beta glanced at it for what seemed like the hundredth time, but this time it actually was bleeding now. The scab had broken. Shadow knew that if she licked it now, it would most likely keep on bleeding. She wasn’t in any danger at the moment of getting it dirty, so leaving it to bleed—the blood will clog up and cause another scab. Something told Shadow that Ace knew this, or something similar.
As they started, Shadow was continuously looking back when she heard every little sound such as a mouse stepping on a twig. Once they were fully into the territory did she become less tense.
.ooc. Sorry so short, not much to say. xD
