Navy and black form padded along the side of a lake. The lake was normally peacefull, but the rain falling in a shower from the dark and cloudy sky disrupted the surface and made her reflection go awry. Sapphire eyes looked out at the lake while she walked in the direction of a small cave, just big enough for a family of sabers.
This is where Nightmayer lived. A few yards away from the lake, not so close to it that she would get drowned out when it swelled with rain water and not so far away that she didn't get a beautiful view of it. The lake was full of fish, and she only ate them if there was nothing else to eat or if she was to weak to hunt, which didn't happen often.
Her ebon mitts were beginning to get covered in mud and her fur was wet, soaked all the way to the bone as some might say. It was a beautiful day in her opinion, she adored the rain with it's own solemn attitude. Why, if they had books and a sorce of light, you bet she would spend a day or night like this inside her den reading with a pair of reading glasses perched upon her nose.
When she entered the den she shook herself thouroughly, getting the sandy earth wet with droplets of crystal clear water flying off of her pelt. Sitting down at the mouth of the cave, just out of reach of the falling rain, she starting to groom herself carefully. Her den was open to all that needed a place to stay, for she was kind hearted and often took in orphaned cubs, or just cub sat for their parents. But she didn't know how many sabers knew her home was open to all, but if they needed a place to stay they were gladly accepted. That is, as long as they were part of the pride or were looking to join it.

Holland
Gray colored pelt was now a darker color as teh rain pelted his coat. Light gray ears flicked and water droplettes fell from them. Crimson colored eyes and head lifted upwards to stare at the clouds even as his paws sunk in the mud that now covered the lands. Long tail flicked from side to side as he paused only feet from the shores of the lake.
Holland nearly collapsed as he tucked his paws under his body and tail curled over his hind paws. Eyes were still held upwards onyl now clsoed to allow his worries to wash away in the rain. Even though he did this Holland still had a serious face on. Ears were perked and one paw extended forward with claws unsheathed. One eye opened and closed almost immediately as a rain drop it it. Head turned back down and shook slightly until a scent reached his nose.
Head turned towards the cave he ddin't realize was there. His two colored ears flipped backwards in a surprised manner. Eyes blinked as the form of a saber was outlined. From where he lay now the warrior male couldn't tell who it was but it was someone he had most likely met earlier and failed to notice who. Tail flicked off his paws and out behind him as he turned his attnetion back to the lake and the clouds that caused the rain.

Through the hazy rain and shadowed land Nightmayer could vaguely see the outline of another saber laying right next to the lake. Who's that? She thought, trying to get a better lok with her soft sapphire eyes. Sabers had good night vision, but with any animal the rain made many things more complicated.
Perhaps it's someone I met when Javert called the meeting. Either that or it's a newcomer to the lands. Standing to her dark paws, subordinate female stepped out of the cave to go and see who it was. Hopefully it was Javert, or maybe Scionos. She wanted to get to know Scionos a little better. What if it was Holland? He hadn't made a very good first impression to her and Javert, in her own opinion. He would need some work. But, she was willing to help the pride, and he was part of the pride.
As she got closer, she could make out the grey and yellow of Holland. Oh boy. She stopped a few paces away from him to gather her thoughts before breathing in and out deeply and continuing. "Greetings Holland." She said in her gentle voice, just loud enough to be heard over the falling rain. "What brings you out here?"

Ears flickered towardsthe pawsteps of the female. Head lifted slightly and eyes looked at the dark colored pelt of the female. He hadn't caught her name when Javert called the meeting but she seemed to know his name. With a grunt the male saber hauled himself to his paws, shaking his body slightly to rid it of some of the mud that clung there.
"Yeah. Hey. I never caught your name." he replied, tilting his head to the side slightly. What a shame. He had hoped for some time to think over about joining this pride. Javert and Ximera had definately given him a horrible impression of the pride but as it looks not everyone here was like that. Holland shook his head. He should know better than to judge a whole based on ones attitude.
He lifted his head to the clouded skies again. "Clouds are always fun to watch. Even if they are soaking you to the bone." Eyes were narrowed slightly but not in an agitated manner. Slight smile was on his maw as he watched the rain fall. "Even the birds and rodents seem happy for teh rain. They get to life another day." There was slight humor in his voice as he spoke, head still tilted towards the clouds.

It seems I've misjudged this male. Nightmayer thought as she watched him look at the dark sky. Now that he was away from the two sabers of the pride she knew would seem hostile in the beginning, he seemd to take an easier tone about things. Nightmayer couldn't blame him. If she wasn't born into the pride and didn't stay, only to leave and come back to find a new leader like Ximera, she would have probably been somewhat put off as well.
"My name is Nightmayer." She said, walking and standing next to him. "You have an interesting way of looking at things, and I agree. Though I don't normally look at the clouds when it rains." A feminine chuckle left her maw as she looked at the gray clouds.
An abnormally loud splash caused her to look out at the lake, and even though the rain was falling rather fast she could tell this was by a fish jumping out of the water to catch a bug. "The fish enjoy it the most."

He sat down in the grassy area, his rump getting more wet that it already was. Tail was held up, tip of it flicking side to side as he thought about the things that went on in the previous days. He was so wrapped up Holland didn't hear teh frst few words of hers. Snapping out of his trance the male's ear flicked. "An interesting way? Never thought of it like that. Guess I do." Holland shrugged as he finished speaking. "Well nice to meet you, Nightmayer." His crimson colored eyes went to the female saber that was standing by him.
So there is a nice saber in the pride who doesn't think about just power. He was glad that there was at least one smart cat in Roumeg besides him. It would get lonely trying to give these powerhungry beasts what they wanted and keeping his sanity at the same time when being the only one. ((dang that's one long run on)) A small chuckl.e "Yes. The bugs are out and the lake gets more nutrients from the surrounding plants and water that gets into it."

"It's nice to see another side of you Holland. I must admit your first impression back there put me off. I was hoping there was a side like this to my fellow pride members." Probably not the best thing to say, but she couldn't help but be honest. She almost forgot all about the rain until the grey and yellow saber said something about it.
"Indeed it does." She replied with a smile, still looking out across the lake. A bolt of lightning that sent a bright flash through the sky made her want to return to her den for some reason. She wasn't scared of it, but maybe she just wanted to get out of the rain now. Her coat was wet enough.
"I'm going back into my cave. If you ever need a place to stay, my home is your home." With that she turned and loped over to the cave, stopping just inside and grooming herself once more. I know Holland a little better now. the subordinate thought as she ran her rough tongue along her pelt. Now I must now what Scionos is like when faced one on one with a saber like me. Hopefully not the same reaction she gave me before. Nightmayer remembered that glare, and she rather disliked it. She wasn't one to receive glares, nor to give them.
But I rather like this side of Holland. And that's good enough for me. Once she was done cleaning, she turned and layed on the sandy earth and looked out at the falling rain some more. A thing of beauty.

((Ugh...short))
His crimson eyes blinked at the female as she spoke. So, she was happy he wasn't sneering and jeering at others? Well, this is what happened when you got him in a place with clouds. He just looses it. With a shrugg he looked at NightMayer. "Maybe Javert is just too proud for his own good. That cat gets on my nerves." The lightning lit up his eyes as it danced across the sky. Ah. Lightning was always his favorite part of storms besides the clouds.
Tail flicking Holland looked over at the dark pelted saer as she stood and went towards the cave he had seen her in earlier when he had first came here. "Fine. See ya. I'm going to stay here a bit longer." He lowered from a sitting position to a laying one, head turning to watch as she went back to the cave most likely large enough to hold the pride if nessicay. Ear flicked in a good bye of a sort as the male turned his attnetion back to the skies and the pitter patter of rain on the lake.

Nightmayer did indeed like this side of Holland better than the one she had first seen. But how long would this side last before Javert and Ximera crushed it into nothing? Appearantly Holland didn't care much for his new authorities. Perhaps Javert was too proud. Ximera just did whatever she wanted, she was the Queen and no one could stop her, not even the King if they had one.The subordinate just sighed as she layed on the ground, watching some crickets come into the cave, trying to flee from the rain being thrusted upon them.
"You just have to get to know Javert. He means well, as do Ximera and I. We just have our different ways to go about it." She said to one of the shiny black crickets that paused before her massive navy and black paw before jumping away. In her opinion Holland was unique. He thought differently than most and acted differently in certain conditions. Just because Javert makes sure their laws are followed doesn't mean he's proud, it's his duty as Second in Command.

The rain was coming down harder now and it irritated him a bit. Brows furrowing and lips lifting slightly as whiskers dripped with water. H2o streamed off his gray hued pelt and water splashed everywhere as he shook his large head. Eyes drifted towards the cave Nightmayer had taken shelter in. She had done the right thing by going there when time was left.
Getting to his paws and giving his body a good thurough shake, paws spread out slightly to keep his balance. Giving the lake a lasting look towards the lake Holland gave a sigh and started towards the shelter. He paused outside, debating weather or not to go in. With another sigh he stepped in slightly.
"Is your invitation still open?" he asked, slightly embarrassed.

Nightmayer lifted her gaze from the leaping cricket to Holland as he came near the cave. With a friendly smile she sat up, navy and black tail curling around her paws. "Getting tired of being in the rain?" She asked in a playful manor. She nodded her head at his question. "Yes, the invitation is still open, and it will always be open for anyone. Remember that Holland."

He wouldn't admit that the rain was beginning to annoy him so Holland remained quiet, tail flicking back and fourth in the rain as he listened to the rest of her speaking. Pausing for a moment the saber tooth feline took a few steps in and paused again before coming on completely. It was nice out of the rain and in the den where he would still see the sky and clouds.
He made his way towards the back shadows, nearly falling on the grounds with his hind legs out to one side and his front paws out in front of him. "It's nice in here." he said a bit to himself, laying his heads on his paws and placing his tail over his paws.
