Now... Where is everyone?
A black nose lifted itself into the air, testing the wind for other sabers. There seemed to be a few he could make out... not as many as he had hoped but it was better than none at all. An unusually patterned face turned in every which direction, grey eyes searching for the others he had picked up on the grasslands.
Dark paws moved forward, white claws shealthed in large paws, somewhat larger than what they were suppose to be. Well there was a good reason for that, he was a hybrid... 2nd generation to be exact. Where his half-sister was he could only guess. It had been a few years now that he had been searching for Nighttrek. He was finally beginning to lose hope of ever finding her, she may have been dead for all he knew. So he decided to do as they had promised, join a pride...
Turning his light-tipped tail, a feature shared by both siblings, he pressed his paws together and tilted hs head upward. His mouth opened, showing the full length of his canines, and let out a long deep call to the others on this territory. Now he only need to wait for a response, or better yet, an appearance.

The smell of an intruder in the Roumeg lands allowed a flash of swear words to cross through his mind in blinding red letters. I guess I don't get a day off. Sighing a bit, he trudged off toward the scent - male by its lack of estrogen. Hopefully this one would be different then the asses that had been entering the lands lately. Sure it was good to be bloodthirsty, but the law shall not be mocked! Finally coming across the male, Javert remained out of sight until he had looked over inch of the prospective member. Strong, long claws. Probably a hybrid of some sort, for now pure Roumeg had claws as long as that. Puffing out cream chest and holding his dominant posture (Which only seemed to be absent around Ximera, or beneath the stars) he strolled out starring intently at the one called Paradox.
"What business do you have upon these lands?" His voice was stern, deep and rumbling. A voice of authority. This was one sabre it would do best not to mess with, or at least follow the rules around. For that was all that mattered - the Law. He remained standing up, in case a tussle would have to be ensued. He'd really rather that not happen, for he had washed his coat only moments ago. And to wash it again would be annoying - but life throws the strangest things at ya.

The older, and larger, male glanced down at the lighter colored one, his face showing no real expression on it. Inside, however, he was smiling. The younger male reminding him of dominating cubs trying their stuff over their larger siblings, it was kind of amusing when he saw that, especially with runts. He paid more attention to runts whenever he was given cubs as charges. His dark mask made the mature male look as if he had something to hide... well, he didn't really...
"My name is Paradox," he spoke in a deeper and sagacious voice, "I wish to prove myself worthy of joining the Roumeg pride..."

The fact that the other male was older and larger, made no difference at all to Javert. He was in charge, and he'd be damned should he be intimidated by a mere thing such as size. The other males size was taken account for though, for size was quite useful in the ways of battle. Looking up and down Paradox, he noted size and perhaps strength but that was it. It seemed he showed no respect either, keeping his posture the same as before Second Commanding male had made his way onto the seen. Fine, as long as he knew his place let him think he was high and mighty. The thoughts that were drifting through the larger males head could not be guessed for he hid his expression well, a curse or a blessing Javert did not yet know.
"Paradox." He repeated the name, and stored it away in case this one turned out to be a trouble maker, "I am Javert, Second in Command of Roumeg. What makes you think you have what it takes to join our ranks?" His voice was demanding and could be identified with that of a drill sergeants.

Ears lifted at the sound that this male, Javert, was indeed part of the pride. Having been in a pride a few years ago, even if it wasn't very long, the large male took a submissive posture and dipped his head so that it was lower than the other's but so that he was also still able to see him quite clearly.
"Ah... forgive my earlier disrespect. I didn't know you were part of this pride but merely a lone male trying to drive others off this territory. However if that is how it is I will notbother you and be on my way. But if I was to be accepted, I will offer my skills, talents, loyaltly, and lay my life for the pride. It is all this lone saber has to offer... It is what is left of his miserable life."
The dark masked saber lifted his head a bit, lefting his grey gaze look at the younger but high ranked male before him, waiting for any questions that would be asked next.

Ah, so that was why he had seemed so disrespectful. The branding of law breaker was taken off older males shoulders for the time being. Though this incident would be filed away under Paradox's name in his memory banks, just in case the time should arise when it needed to be used again. Cynical look faded into the one he usually wore when greeting those who could be useful to the Roumeg pride, for this male knew to show respect always a good thing. Ximera would be happy enough with him. Listening to his words, Javert paused for a moment considering. He spoke nothing of the disrespect that had happened moments ago, but instead pondered of what use this male could be to Roumeg. He was big, perhaps a warrior? But they had far to many warriors compared to the rest of their ranks. Maybe a scout of some sort?
"What are your skills?" That same commanding voice escaped him, he was in charge here, and gods help any fool who thought otherwise. "You will be little use to us if you have none."

[Was babysitting, sorry for the lateness and the shortness]
"I've had training in a great variety of different skills. Hunting, fighting, scouting, border patrol... spying... and cub sitting. Basically a bit of everything, sir." His ears set themselves to the side in a relaxed state, his tail tip just twitching slightly as he awaited the second in command's judgement. His rear legs bent low to the ground as he positioned himself in a comfortable sitting posture. His tail wrapped around his paws and tapped against his fur slightly ever few seconds.
"If what I possess isn't acceptable, I can learn quickly of whatever other skills are needed of me." Paradox added, just to show he wasn't blind to learning other things if they were needed.

Javert listened carefully as the elder cat listed off what he could do, and mentally checked them off or scratched them off depending on what they were. They need not have any cub sitters, for the cubs seemed late coming this year. As an afterthought, he placed a maybe next to that job - cubs could get wily. Especially with the Chicotah just next door, it would be smart to have someone to care for them. Warrior ... those were nice - but they had their share of warriors lately. It was time to even the playing field and gather other ranks. Hunting. Yes, that was a rank that would be easy to prove worth for and was needed. As was Spying. Border Patrol as well. This cat could do just about everything, and that bothered olive colored tom a bit. He seemed perfect, but perfection was just a mask for some deeper scar. Remembering to keep an eye on Paradox should he turn to law breaking he spoke his mind.
"You can do just about everything can't you? Well then, you're welcome into Roumeg. If you would like to prove your rank here and now - I'll stay and watch your skills. If you'd rather rest, I can give you terms on your rank as it is now and laws that you will follow or face my jaws." Skull cocked itself much like a canine, awaiting the feline's answer. If he chose to prove his rank now, it would probably be a test of the Hunt or a test of Stealth.

Ears moved up, listening intentively to the second in command as he spoke. He seemed to sound a bit unsure about his abilities. That would be anyone's reaction to the list he had just spoke outloud. Truly he had done all this, some a bit more skillfully than others but he was a fast learner, not even needing to be taught. He watched, learned, and practiced. He drew back to all four legs, stretching his hind legs out before doing his back.
"I don't mind showing you my skills. Whichever you may want me to show, just ask. As I said, I can also learn any new abilities if it is required. Whichever rank you really need, you may ask of my ability of it and I will do my best to please you, sir."

Yes, a hunt would be perfect. They had far to many warriors, and needed to even out the ranks. Besides - Javert was growing hungry in the afternoon sunlight, and it would be just perfect to bring down a kill that would feed them both. Ah, so he indeed wanted to receive his rank now and not be treated like dirt later on. Very well then. Commander stood as well, stretching a bit before walking away at a slow and steady pace. A glance over his shoulder, and a toss of the head meant that Paradox was meant to follow him.
"Very well Paradox, you will be given the test of the hunt. It is up to you to find your kill, thought if you need help in bringing it down I will assist you. You are in command here, but only for the hunt. Do not get cocky in ordering around your Officials, as they do not take kindly to it. If you can find anything above a rabbit I will be impressed." It was true, larger kills often roamed the wolf territories.

"If you wish, then that is what I shall do..." Paradow turned his head around, ears rotating over his head for any sounds on the wind. His delicate nose working to sniff out a scent, preferably a larger beast of which to bring down than a rabbit or hare. Unfortunately there wasn't much besides those type of prey species that he could pick up... but there was in the wolfen territories.
"We'll head into the Chicotah packlands if you are alright with that... larger prey even with enemies. Or would you perhaps prefer that I hunt in Haven, sir?" Paradox turned to look at Javert, his eyes narrowed on the hunt at hand but nevertheless keeping to show his respect of the younger male.

At the mention of crossing into the Chicotah land, a smirk crossed his face. "The Chicotah land will be fine, just watch you're guard if I'm not with you. They won't hesitate to take down a lone Sabre they do not know." Javert himself would be fine, as he had made it quite clear (more then once) what his position was in the Roumeg Pride, and who was in charge. This lead to a thought of Ximera, she had not been around latly and it was starting to worry him. For what was a pride with no leader? A quick shake of his skull rid the thoughts from him mind, Ximera would return soon and Roumeg would prosper once more.
"Lead the way." He dropped back to allow the older male to take the lead and scout out food better. For prey that will tolerate one Sabre, will not often tolerate two.

The unusually masked male lead the way to the chicotah/roumeg border. Already he could detect a small deer herd to their right, but he thought against it. It was easier to hunt down a stray deer than a group which was highly alert and more likely see what was coming. Besides, they were upwind of these herbivores, the smell only present because they had been here before.
Paradox moved in aother direction, seeminglessly moving around in zigzags, though this way of travel was vital to him to get a feel of his surroundings and plot escape routes the prey would take to escape. They shortly came to the presence of a lone doe and her newborn fawn.
The older male immediately drew onto his stomach, legs coiled as he slowly and quietly moved forward. Ears perked and entire senses on alert for the right moment to attack.
