((This is just me testing my ability at making Gal the wolf he is... Also to give Sugha an example of how merciless he is. Others are free to join, but this in no way a start to the war... Just... something rather random.))
Still in the early hours of the morning, the land should have been still, silent, undisturbed. That however, was not the case. Galieo, falling in second in command at Delta, had taken it upon himself to patrol the borders of Whiteback territory. Their numbers were few, and their bonds were beginning to struggle beneath the strain and tension of the coming war. It was not the most pleasant of situations for any wolf to find itself in, and the Delta himself had even needed a short break from the chaos that was brewing in his lands. Patrol duty had seemed like a fine idea.
Now the shrill sounds of yelps and thunderous snarls could be heard across the near barren, snowy landscape. The silence of the early morning hours was disturbed by the sounds of fighting, and no one had seemed to pay it any mind. Fighting was not something uncommon within Whiteback territory, but it was uncommon for one of the wolves involved this morning.
Blood stained Galieo's normally white-masked muzzle and face, his triangular markings lost within the glistening crimson. His normally gleaming white teeth were stained red as he bared them, snarls tearing through his throat and chest. The snow around him was torn up, kicked and clawed out of its perfectly smooth state, patches of red sinking to the ground and standing out visibly against the white landscape.
Before him, a dark-pelted wolf was struggling to regain its footing, its form mangled and bloody. Labored breathing came from both canines, interrupted by fierce snarls on both accounts. Golden eyes met Galieo's blues, which were blazing with such an intense hatred that it put the sun's rays to shame.
"Spying on my family!" Galieo's normally smooth voice was ragged, demented in its sound through his clenched jaws, fur bristling and muscles seemingly ready to burst through his own flesh with how hard they were straining. "They trusted you!"
"Gali-" The other male's plaintive words were cut off as Galieo charged at him, their shoulders colliding and Gal sending the other male sliding through the snow, leaving a red streak behind as he went. His voice turned to the harsh yelps and howls of pain that had rented air-space only moments before as he set to writhing, trying to free himself from Galieo's jaws.
Taking the other male's nape mercilessly, Galieo bit down, feeling his fangs sink into flesh, and set to jerking his head back and forth. He continued this, reveling in the other wolf's screams of agony, until he felt the skin in his teeth give way, and he let the other male drop, finally releasing his hold. "Traitor. You dare return to us, as a spy for them!"
"They would have killed me, if I had refused!" The other male's voice came out in feeble whimper as he tried yet again to stand. He never got to his feet.
"Then I will do it for them." Was the last thing the former-Whiteback heard before Galieo's jaws found a decent hold upon his throat.
Blood spilled upon the snow, staining it an even darker, richer red, as Galieo's teeth sank into skin yet again, his entire body quivering with rage and exertion. The pair had been fighting since before the sun had woken. Now it was over, the sun bringing with it the first pale rays of sunlight to grace the frigid northern lands of Whiteback territory. He held onto the other male's neck until the blood ceased falling, and only then did he drop the carcass to the ground unceremoniously.
The other had been a friend of Galieo's, before he had disappeared... The fighting had scared him off, as it had many others. If he had returned out of loyalty, Galieo would have thought nothing of it. But his companion had given him reason to suspect, and Galieo had learned of his duty as a spy. Family always came first, and a spy was a threat to the pack, Galieo's entire family. So... he had eradicated the problem as soon as was necessary. Betrayal did not sit well with the blue-eyed male.
Exhaling heavily, the Delta turned away from the body of the former-whiteback, blue eyes still blazing dangerously with a rage that would take him some time to pull back into control. At least, it normally would have, until those fierce blue eyes caught sight of a 'spectator' to his actions. How unexpected... Perhaps he had made a little too much noise.
"Do you really like being Delta, Galieo?"
"I am where I am for a reason."
"And why's that?"
"I have remained loyal to my pack...."
