Cotton candy clouds scuttled along the sky as they got out of the way of the lazily rising sun. The birds arose from their sleep, shaking themselves free of dew and parting their beaks to release songs and territorial cries. Other small creatures scurried about, eating and gathering food while enjoying the morning sun. All was well, until a voice broke though the comfortable background noise. Her voice was slurred and almost drunken sounding as she sang, "And I wanna go home!" The owner of the voice turned out to be a mutt of some sort. Her entire body was white, save for a few places which were black. She had a tuft of hair on her head. Her forehead, back of her neck, back, and her entire tail were black. Obsidian eyebrows lay dormant above her eyes, but later on they would furrow and quirk. Her ears were pierced and around her neck was a nameless black collar. Wrisbands of the same color were around her front paws.
"Oh whiskey leave me alooooone!" She sang, her head toward the heavens before it lowered and she kept walking. Her tail swished and swayed as she sung, "Oh whiskey leave me aloooone!" Then she added in a drunken slur and swagger of her walk, "Alll allloooone!" Raising her head to the heavens, she partially sang and howled, "Oh whiskey leave me ALLLOOOOOOOOOOooooone!" She lowered her head and cracked a grin as her pace only quickened. The swagger stayed in her hips while her tail flicked and swished. Her head swung side to side like an ox trudging alone and pulling a heavy cart before she lifted it. "I'm tired and I waannaaa goooo hoooooome!" Now, Spunkmeyer had no idea what whiskey was, but it sounded pretty swell in her song. Her voice dropped lone as she slurred, "Home... home... home.. hoooome.." And then the song started all over again, "Whiskey leave me alooone!"

Ooc:// I have come to save you from you lonliness!
Aw… what a beautiful day,” thought the Alpha as he emerged from a den, small in size. It was the den that he had claimed as his. The twittering of various birds brought joy to the mix. After a bit of stretching, RavenHolm set off to do his duties; he was Alpha after all. He set off in a trot towards the central meeting point of his pack. His dark pelt seemed to absorb the warmth the sun provided through its rays. Crystal blue eyes observed everything around him. He loved this beautiful place. The dogs and hybrids had freedom; they no longer held ties to those humans. Dogs were practically slaves when they were owned by humans. Youkol was the ideal place for ones who wished to escape the humans.
As he continued to walk, an odd noise reached his ears. What was it? Singing? If you could call it that. It was slurred, with some odd words in it. Like whiskey. What in gods name was whiskey? Most likely a word of the humans. Well, it wasn’t his business what the others sang. There seemed to be a stagger in the walk of the young she-dog. It seemed as if she was injured. Concern crossed the face of RavenHolm as he approached her. Well, she didn’t seem to be injured. She seemed rather odd to the dog mix. ”Spunkmeyer is it?” he asked, concern in his soft voice. “Are you quite alright?”

"By the blue moon this place is as empty as my belly!" Spunkmeyer said, having stopped her singing and not noticing RavenHolme approaching. "In need of a fix'er'upper too. And where the heck is everybody? Evertime I passed these woods there was yippin' and barkin', and now all I hear is me! And by go- YEOWCH!" She yelped as she heard RavenHolme speak. Whirling around with her fur ruffed and ready to start a fight, she blinked, and calmed down. "Oh! You scared me." Spunkmeyer said while softly wagging her tail. Her trademark grin found its way on her muzzle as she said, "Yeah. Spunkmeyer's the name.. and I'm fine. What makes you think I ain't?"

Raven had hopped back about a foot when he heard the 'YEOWCH' of Spunkmeyer. She had startled him as much as he had startled her. Crystal blue eyes examined the mutt as he spoke. ” I am sorry that I startled you, Spunkmeyer.” He gave a bow of his head before continuing. “Well, it was just your… er, singing. And I believed you were injured by the way you were staggering.” Inwardly, he was sighing with relief. RavenHolm was glad that she was alright, and that she hadn’t attacked him when he had surprised her. His head turned first to the left and then to the right. A slight clinking noise was made when he did when his necklace moved. "Where are they others?" he asked to no one in particular.

She blinked, then threw back her head and laughed boisterously. It was rough, but not unpleasant. Calming down, she said, "Singing? I think it was more like caterwalling." The dog grinned wolfishly, but if faded away quickly. Her ears flattened as she looked around. "I don't know. Usually everyone's around just doin' their own thing, but you're the first I've seen all day." Her tail flicked as she gazed around at the thick wood. "It's like they just got up and vanished without a trace.. which just ain't natural." She frowned. "Only cats do that, and I know they ain't felines, cause then we would have chased'em out of here." With a sigh, she sat on her haunches and looked to him. "RavenHolme, right?"

I smile appeared ‘pon the face of RavenHolm as he heard the reply of Spunkmeyer. His smile faded along with hers. ”Hmmm, it truly is a mystery,” was his reply. The only sounds were his, Spunkmeyer’s, and that of smaller animals that also dwelled in the forest. ”Where could they be?” A look of worry spread across his multi-colored face. He agreed with Spunk; they couldn’t have disappeared that fast while leaving absolutely no trace. His ears turned this way and that as he tuned into all of the sounds of the forests. Why would they have all left anyway? Hundreds of other questions buzzed through his mind. They would find them soon enough; Raven knew that. ”Indeed, I am RavenHolm.” The mix bowed his head to the she-dog. Raven was always a polite dog, no matter who he was speaking to.

She snorted. "Well, forget them. If they wanna play hide-and-seek, they're gonna do it by their lonesomes. Come on, Raven. Walk with me. Nothin' else to do around here." Spunkmeyer said while jerking her head, motioning for him to follow. She slowly walked through the thick wood, watching as field mice and other vermin scurried for their burrows. "That's right! You better run away!" She snapped playfully at the fleeing critters. Her tail swished and flicked to and fro while she casually strolled through her home.

A smile was still spread across his features. "Alright then," he said he followed her, in a happy trot. Spunkmeyer was indeed a lively mutt! His grin grew wider as she snapped at the creatures. Oh how he missed his younger days, although some were filled with pain. The tattoo and the necklace of bear claws hanging around his neck were the only reminders of his days with the men. Men was the object that RavenHolm hated the most. He even hated them more than those wretched bears. Where were those others? He had to keep his mind off of that. He must not dwell on all of his painful memories, or else it would interfere with job of protecting his pack. "So why did you come here, Spunkmeyer?" he simply asked as the continued walking.

((hope you don't mind))
The male dog yawned from his perch on a fallen tree trunk, one dark brown paw folded over another, mismatched eyes not seeming to care about what was around him. Ears flicked as flies swamed around them. But they soon faded away as voices reqached his ears. The black on his back was hot from where the sun had touched it. Yawning yet again, he stretched his forepaws forward, toes spreading out slightly, back arching downward. The scar on his back haunch burned slightly making the dog wince but not enough to keep him from finding the source of the noise.
His leathery nose twitched as the scents got stronger, eyes narrowing slightly. Ears flicked back but forward yet again. Soon he caught sight of the two. One male and One female. Walking and talking. Golden body was kept low to the ground as he spied on the two, confusion clearly in his eyes. That soon faded to the normal calm expression he held. Legs lifted himself upwards and the male let himself be known, not something he did often.
Eyes moved from the female to the male, thick furred tail flicking slightly as his heart pounded. Even if he was scared and nervous the calmness was still there on his face, mismatched eyes on the male.

"Why do all dogs come here?" Spunkmeyer countered. She looked at him from the corner of her eyes while grinning. "I don't know why you're here... but I came seeking companionship." Her ears flattened. "Living alone is rough. There's no one to talk to, no one to play one, not even a single soul just to yell at. All you have is yourself and the air around you." She lifted her head to look at the trees, then looked back to him. "I'm here cause I won't be alone anymore. Allo! What's this?" She asked as her ears swiveled on their own accord when she heard the other male rise. Turning her head, her warm golden eyes roved over the golden male. "Hey there! Whatcha doin' by your lonesome? Get your butt on over here! We don't bite.. unless you're a flea, which from what I can see, you are clearly not."

"I am the alpha here,” RavenHolm answered, his ash colored tail flicking in the air. ”And I would gladly accept you into the pack.” His lips parted to show a smile. ”I too have traveled alone before; it is quite bothersome, never having anyone to talk to." He had been extremely lonesome when he had left of villages of man to escape. But, he also enjoyed the peace and quiet that it provided. Not that he was complaining about being with the rest of the pack. A noise caught the attention of the mix. Grey ears rotated as to better hear the sound. The scent his nose caught was surely that of a wolf. He too halted and turned. “Do come and join us, sir!” he called after seeing the mutt. He didn’t seem like he was going to attack, but Raven would be ready if he did. “ I am Alpha RavenHolm, or just Raven, and this is Spunkmeyer.” He motioned to the young dog with his head. A smile was still ‘pon his lips as he spoke.

Eare perked and went down. They didn't seem like the type to attack but still one could be fooled easily into thinking such an enemy could be nice. Eyes glanced at the ground before he stepped forward, halting about 5 feet from the two. "I come in search of a place to live my life," was his reply to the female's question. His mixed gaze then turned to the male, or RavenHolm. So they had given him their names did they expect his in return? One ear went sideways slightly in a tad bit of confusion.
Again he debated what to do next. Tell them his name? It would be common curtisy but of course, he wasn't a common mix of breeds. "Corprit." His tone was low, as if he expected the name to suddenly make the treea round him burst into flames.

"Corpit eh?" Spunkmeyer said. She let the name roll over her tongue while tasting the syllables. Looking at him, she said, "Mind if I call ya Cor? Or are you the type who doesn't like to have a nickname?" The dog sat on her haunches while cocking her head. Her black tail curled and rested over her paws while she looked to him. "You have pretty eyes. I envy them."

With a bow of his head he said, “It is a pleasure to meet you, Corprit. Well, if you seek a home, you have found the right dog,” he said in a cheery tone, that smile still planted on his tri-colored maw. ”I am Alpha of these lands.” His eyes examined the dog as he seemed rather confused. RavenHolm didn’t understand why, but didn’t voice his inquiry; he thought it best not to. ”You are now an official member of the Youkol Dog Pack, if that is what you wish.” Spunkmeyer’s statement made him look closer at the dog. His eyes were indeed odd for one reason. They were un-matching. The Alpha, although it sounded silly, did too envy his eyes. It was a rather odd thing for Raven to do. Usually, he didn’t envy the others. He was content being himself. Still he smiled on.

Envy? His eyes? Now he was more confused than ever! Who would manyone like his blue and silver eyes? To him they were a curse. Everyone always stared at him as he walked in large crowds, as if he was a demon of some sort. The calm expression made it;s way onto his face again as the two continued speaking. A member of a pack? He could stay here and make himself useful. But wandering did seem to caputre him more. It was all strange for him. Slowly, Corprit nodded his head to RavenHolm's question. He didn't reall recognize authority to others, normally just a nod of the head. Would this dog be mad about that? He decided not to bring it up unless he did. Eyes went to Spunkmeyer. "Are you a member as well?"
