The sudden warmth was quite welcome, though he knew if he was exposed to lying like this as well as the sun for much longer he would soon be fast asleep. Curse the damn fact that he often slept during the day, it was just another sign that he was getting old. Clearing his thoughts of that particular issue with a sneeze he gazed back at Lilah, a grin springing up onto his cheek bones. "Excuse me," it was rare for him to say anything of the sort during a sneeze, especially around pleasant company - but he was in an odd mood and felt it needed to be said.
"Hm?" He responded to his name in a lazy fashion, quite shocked by what she had to say. Well, not shocked by it, but shocked about why she would say such a thing. "I care for you a lot too Lilah." Brow furrowed a bit as he tried to figure out the meaning of such a statement, resting his chin on his ivory coated mitts he continued to try and puzzle it out - only to find it useless. Why would she say such a thing?

Lilah couldn't help but snort in amusement as the Beta excused himself from his sneeze in a comical fashion. "Don't catch a cold now...," she murmured in a lazy mannerism before wagging her tail gently as he returned her comment. He sounded a little unsure about why she had said such a thing, but then again so was she. It just seemed like she needed to say it otherwise it might go unnoticed.
"Well that eases my mind," she chuckled and stood with much difficulty. It was always hard to shift away from pleasant company and a comfortble position. She delivered one last last nuzzle to Rouch's neck before shaking out her pelt while standing, emerald eyes peering over the land about them, surveying over the tall grass. "I might head back to my duties around the borders now. You never know when a newcomer might stumble in," she looked down to the relaxed and weary looking Beta, surprised to see a new expression of puzzled thought added to that mix, cocking her head in question down at him, "If you don't mind that is..."
She assumed he wanted to sleep and rest due to his behaviour, she now being one to fall into such an activity very easily. But now she wasn't so sure.

"Yes, that wouldn't be very good. I'd of course have to blame whatever cold I got on you." He dropped a wink, the grin that had been ever-present around Lilah only widening. Ah, but all good times must come to an end and as she shifted away he couldn't help but feel disappointed. Shifting to a sitting position he glanced after her, "I guess I should go and see if either of the Alpha's have returned." Ah the reports he would have to give, and the list of newly accepted wolves he'd have to rattle off. Truly Rouch was not looking forward to the long winded speeches he would have to make. But that was his duty and he had to accept it - heavy heart or not.
"No... I don't mind. It's just a shame when moments like this come to an end and we're both thrust back into war time duty. Damn Chicotah." A few other colorful words were used to describe the violent wolves before he waved her off with a thrust of his skull, "Take care of yourself Lilah - you never know who might come across the border."

Lilah sighed and dropped her fore legs to arch her back into a strech, rump raising to the sky with a long satisfied groan at the action. Shaking out her pelt once more at the refreshing movement, Lilah wagged her tail once more to Rouch as he agreed in having to go about their duties. It might have been a disappointing end to their day, but at least the Delta knew he was on the same wave length as she.
"Be sure to give a warm greeting to the Alphas for me. It seems so long since I've seen them," Lilah looked to Rouch with a soft expression before a cheeky grin began to surface, "Say... do you know whether you'll be known as Uncle Rouch yet?" Lilah cackled softly, prancing about him in a circle at one last show of affectionate teasing. She also brought the different topic up because of the dark tone Rouch used when thinking of the Chicotah. Lilah had never had a mishap with one of those wolves yet, but she didn't like them already, solely because of the worries and troubles they caused Rouch.
"Don't worry. With a tough wolf like me around, no Chicotah stands a chance," she grinned comically before stalking through the grass dramtically, fur bristling around her chocolate neck.

Even after a long romp it seemed Lilah was full of energy, something that beta would never cease to be amazed at. "Uncle? Oh, heaven help me." He added a laugh, to show he was purely joking. It would be a joy to teach his sister's pups some of the things that only an uncle could teach. However, he wasn't sure he was looking forward to having to deal with being crawled over by millions of little pups who have been told that one day one of them will rule of Ayria.
His laughter echoed after her at her parting words, "I'm sure you could single handedly take down their entire pack." He called after her, a wide grin on his face before he turned and went to return to his duties as Beta.

Somehow the mental image of Rouch being tugged and walked all over by a team of nephews and nieces was quite adorable to the Delta. But she kept that to herself... for the moment anyway. It would make some good material for later on. She paused and gave a parting smile for good measure as the Beta too moved to depart. Duty always called.
A part of her felt deflated to have to end such a nice afternoon but she knew there would always be another time. He always made time for her; well, for relaxing really. She should really stop thinking of Rouch as if she were his own exclusive wolfess to lounge around with and smother with affection and talk. Shaking her head softly at herself she raised her maw, a siren's howl drifting through the air that would son become dusk as a parting call of well being toward the Beta. Finsihing her signiture melodic call, her paws lifted from the gorund as if feather-light and took her back into the depths of the forest, casting one short pouting glare at the squirrel that still remained on that tree's branch before taking off into the direction of hte nearest borders, hoping to catch the next newcomers before the Beta did.
